What they don't tell you is that you get massive resolution trade off OR use a kinect (like a Sony f717) and multi capture images (localized focusing or "focus stacking") into one images then wrap it with the IR field to create a 3D image. IR info can be embedded in the photo so you can play around with DOP afterwards.
That way you wont get resolution reduction and enabling to play with a 3D image, but it not as elegant as plenoptics lens though, due to timing of focus stacking.
@slowgold20 Creativity? No, they are just shifting that to post. Skill? Yeah maybe, but the camera isn't going to compose the shot for you, or make lighting decisions.
@shmookins the technology actually based in the camera it self ... it use plenoptic lens which located between the lens and the sensor ... it looks like small slide with many many tiny lens....... google it you must find alot of info
@PacoBell and i swear that's beehives in the background of the photo. So @ 1:17 when Nicholas Cage says "oh no!" when he notices that the image is focused on the Beehives instead of the girl, it's probably genuine distress.

@slowgold20 unklejman is right. Besides, should only photography experts be able to capture memories?

That is truly amazing. Is this a new Photoshop feature or purely an nVidia GPU solution?
