I don't know if it's the camera making it look great, but it looks good. I think the woman was right about the foundation. But that's my opinion and considering I'm not looking at you face to face it may not be 100% true.
ok, im a make up artist so i understand what she was trying to do...HOWEVER that shade is too light but it doesnt look bad and it is blendable. it should look good after you put your powder on, as long as it's the same color as your skin or even a shade darker cuz it'll even out the color of that foundation. hell even a bronzer will work!

a lot of times I have found that MAC reps try to match the chest/neck area instead of matching the T zone which is what ppl should do. Especially with acne scarring.. I have a lot acne scarring and my chest/neck area is a NW 43 but my face in reality is NW47... the NW 43 looks ghostly on me...
nw 43 is going to be to light for you. I can tell you now I am darker than you, and nw45 is too light for full foundation for me. You should just use it around the eyes, but not for full face.

I think the foundation looks good, it matches your neck. For people with oily skin, the foundation oxidizes and becomes darker, I think that's why she gave you a bit lighter color but it looks natural IMO.
Alot of times the makeup girls/guys try to tell you what your color is and how it will look on you,but sometimes it be wrong period!! I hate that especially when you have to take the stuff back. But on the real the mac studio tech looks ashy on you the iman is bomb!!

I've been a NW 50 since I was 16 (I'm 22 now) and the MAC girl tried to tell me that I was a NW 45. I looked much better with my makeup than the makeup the "professional" put on me.
I just went to mac and they gave me studio tech foundation in NW47 and the foundation + powder in NW45. The NW47 is dark as hell and I don't know how I like it. I always put the powder on top so...I'll give it a few more days. I spent 55 dollars on this shit so I don't play. lol If it's not working it is going back.
I wish I could wear colorstay but the cappuccino is too red/orange and the mahogany is too dark. I'm not into mixing liquids so...
I tried the oil control makeup and it didn't work to well, I would try the whole mixing thing but I feel like if im gonna pay all that for it I shouldn't have to tweak it.

Yeah that shit happens all the time to me with the trying to match foundation to my skin. I went to the Estee Lauder counter a while back and the lady sat me down and SUPPOSEDLY matched my skin!!! When I got that shit home and tried it on one side of my face I look like two different people sewn together, and when I put it on my whole face, even worse I looked like Micheal Jackson(R.I.P). I took that shit back!!!

Girl, we are bout the same shade. I use NC50 with the minearlized finish powder (dark) on top of it. Those MAC folks are throwed! Make sure you have a sistah work on your face. They know what color to choose...

I heard that this foundation runs darker so you're better off getting a darker powder or the NW45 foundation... I used to go through this all the time but I realized NC45 is almost my skintone!!

The NW43 is too light, you may need NW45, or NC50 but if that doesn't work stick with what you have, I have the same foundation and I am NW45 in MAC but I had to get NC50, they NW45 was to red for me.

I think it looks nice on you when you put it on your entire face but I like the way your foundation looked when you were in your car waiting for alicia. That foundation looked amazing on you! This one it just a tad bit off but not by too much.
I mean once u started blending it it looks ok...but remember u get darker in the summertime and this color is an absolute no-no for now...maybe in the winter..but not now..stick with your Iman shade..

I don't think it makes you loon ashy or anything, but it is lighter than your actual complexion. Even though you did not put it on in full, you saw the difference in color from your neck. They sold me a foundation that was darker than my complexion. And me and your are around the same shade. I hate that! Cause they talk a good one! After watching the video and seeing it all over your face I think that the MAC matches with your neck and chest if you want your face to match your chest and neck.
As far as lighting, natural light is the best lighting when it comes to makeup. Florescent lights are the worst to do makeup in and tangent lights are just as bad in my opinion.
Just go outside and look at your foundation then you'll know if its working for you or not.

It does seem to light. Some MAC makeup artist are just plain crap and cant match our skin! There are a few that can really match our skintones. Sidenote: I am a oily girl myself! And there have been two MAC make up artist that have told me not to use mineral products on my face due to oily skin. They said the only mineral products to use are eyeshadows if you are oily. But I dont even take chances on them either. I stay away from mineral products all together.

I actually think it look aight...but u're right it doesn't match your complexion 100%. I love the Iman on your better. Even though Iman be oranger than lil bit. Its hard when you are multi-toned to find the right color.
If your makeup looks like that in regular light when you get outside it will definantly show!!! Get your money back and try a new shade or a different company/
the side with the moisture looks better. Try using a brush next time, and then set it with a darker powder. I use mac and when i use a sponge it looks funny. Also give the foundation time to blend into your skin. Idk why, but mac looks better after about 5 min after application. hope this helps :-)
You look like a Nc50 to me it looks like it would blend out better on your skin tone. I wear a Nw43 in the winter in the studio fix But my Nw43 in the studio fix foundation plus powder is looking to red had to put it away!
Please give it a minute. IT really does change color. And I'm not even oily! I've been using it since we got it and NW 45 gets really really dark as the day goes on.I wear a NC50 but by lunchtime I was 2 shades darker!!!!!! I had to drop down to a NC45/ NW43 mix. BTW I've been thinking for a while that Deep Dark MSF is too dark for you. If I helped you at my store, I would suggest that next time you drop down to Dark.

well....first, you're gorgeous. you and i 95% of the time wear the same shade. This doesn't look horrible, but ....if you're going to be self concious about it....take it back. Personally, i think you need to play with your powder and warm it up a lil. The undertone isn't as warm as your real skin.
I agree that before you blended it, it looked too light. Once you did your whole face, I thought it looked like a good match. BUT if you think you need a different color, then I say return it! I use this make-up and love it and I apply it with a foundation brush. :-)
Yeah, you need it in your life bc they are suppose to push the newest products. But that foundation does run dark. So if you are normally an NW45 you prob will need NW43 and then like she said it will darken up once it oxidizes. But MrsDivaLike tried that foundation and she has oily skin and she had to take it back.

You don't have warm undertones (red) JD. You have cool undertones (yellow) in your skin color so you should have been given NC50. MAC gave me NW50 once and I cried. I went back and a girl with experience and her name is Janelle too...big up...and she hooked me up with NC50 and I am doing very well today. Take that shit back, raise hell and get the right shade. yeah.. i think you are an NW45 or an NC50...that foundation runs a little dark so try one of those. I used that foundation for a few weeks when it first came out... i think it broke me out and it made my oil situation worse... i"m gonna re-visit it this week since i started using the primer from Iman
IMO, you can pull off a lot of different looks....but this color of foundation washes you out. It's not that it stands out, per say, it just makes you look like you are made completely up. But, I am gonna rock w/ you if you can get it to work!

Mac does oxidize so once you have it on for a little while it will be your color. It looks slight ashy initially but that will change. You were happy with the Iman so I would return the Mac and stick with Iman. Get a few eyeshadows.

Yeah that shit happens all the time to me with the trying to match foundation to my skin. I went to the Estee Lauder counter a while back and the lady sat me down and SUPPOSEDLY matched my skin!!! When I got that shit home and tried it on one side of my face I look like two different people sewn together, and when I put it on my whole face, even worse I looked like Micheal Jackson(R.I.P). I took that shit back!!!

Girl, we are bout the same shade. I use NC50 with the minearlized finish powder (dark) on top of it. Those MAC folks are throwed! Make sure you have a sistah work on your face. They know what color to choose...

I never ever listen to the MAC girls, the only thing they're doing is selling their damn products! Just purchase what you feel is right for you! I heard that this foundation runs darker so you're better off getting a darker powder or the NW45 foundation... I used to go through this all the time but I realized NC45 is almost my skintone!!

The NW43 is too light, you may need NW45, or NC50 but if that doesn't work stick with what you have, I have the same foundation and I am NW45 in MAC but I had to get NC50, they NW45 was to red for me.

I don't think it makes you loon ashy or anything, but it is lighter than your actual complexion. Even though you did not put it on in full, you saw the difference in color from your neck. They sold me a foundation that was darker than my complexion. And me and your are around the same shade. I hate that! Cause they talk a good one! Maybe you can hold on to that for the summer but that is not your shade and she knew that. Idk why they do that.

After watching the video and seeing it all over your face I think that the MAC matches with your neck and chest if you want your face to match your chest and neck.
As far as lighting, natural light is the best lighting when it comes to makeup. Florescent lights are the worst to do makeup in and tangent lights are just as bad in my opinion.
Just go outside and look at your foundation then you'll know if its working for you or not.

It does seem to light. Some MAC makeup artist are just plain crap and cant match our skin! There are a few that can really match our skintones. Sidenote: I am a oily girl myself! And there have been two MAC make up artist that have told me not to use mineral products on my face due to oily skin. They said the only mineral products to use are eyeshadows if you are oily. But I dont even take chances on them either. I stay away from mineral products all together.

the side with the moisture looks better. Try using a brush next time, and then set it with a darker powder. I use mac and when i use a sponge it looks funny. Also give the foundation time to blend into your skin. Idk why, but mac looks better after about 5 min after application. hope this helps :-)

Please give it a minute. IT really does change color. And I'm not even oily! I've been using it since we got it and NW 45 gets really really dark as the day goes on.I wear a NC50 but by lunchtime I was 2 shades darker!!!!!! I had to drop down to a NC45/ NW43 mix. BTW I've been thinking for a while that Deep Dark MSF is too dark for you. If I helped you at my store, I would suggest that next time you drop down to Dark.

I agree that before you blended it, it looked too light. Once you did your whole face, I thought it looked like a good match. BUT if you think you need a different color, then I say return it! I use this make-up and love it and I apply it with a foundation brush. :-)

Yeah, you need it in your life bc they are suppose to push the newest products. But that foundation does run dark. So if you are normally an NW45 you prob will need NW43 and then like she said it will darken up once it oxidizes. But MrsDivaLike tried that foundation and she has oily skin and she had to take it back.

You don't have warm undertones (red) JD. You have cool undertones (yellow) in your skin color so you should have been given NC50. MAC gave me NW50 once and I cried. I went back and a girl with experience and her name is Janelle too...big up...and she hooked me up with NC50 and I am doing very well today. Take that shit back, raise hell and get the right shade. yeah.. i think you are an NW45 or an NC50...that foundation runs a little dark so try one of those. I used that foundation for a few weeks when it first came out... i think it broke me out and it made my oil situation worse... i"m gonna re-visit it this week since i started using the primer from Iman

Mac does oxidize so once you have it on for a little while it will be your color. It looks slight ashy initially but that will change. You were happy with the Iman so I would return the Mac and stick with Iman. Get a few eyeshadows.
