Rick Rypien is an excellent fighter. He has a boxing background and is probably the best fighter in the league in terms of teqnique and know how. He has destroyed guys that have almost half a foot on him and is outwighed in almost every scrap he gets into. Murray is also no slouch and is a pretty good fighter, and is also like the hulk compared to rypien. Love both players, very spirited fight. If it happens again, my bet is that its alot closer.

This is Reich's 2nd of the night so he was probably more tired that Rypien too. I have got to say that until Rypien fights the top names, he is only going to be a second tier fighter like Lucic. Rick Rypien is an excellent fighter. He has a boxing background and is probably the best fighter in the league in terms of teqnique and know how. He has destroyed guys that have almost half a foot on him and is outwighed in almost every scrap he gets into. Murray is also no slouch and is a pretty good fighter, and is also like the hulk compared to rypien. Love both players, very spirited fight. If it happens again, my bet is that its alot closer.

True, but Rypien has overcame bigger size advantages .. hes a lot better fighter then he was too there dont forget. Once he gets his momentum going, its near impossible to stop him. He throws both hands and could easily dissect any of the middle weights and a great deal of the smaller less skilled heavyweights (Stortini comes to mind)

imo rypiens only loss. i thought the fight against reich was a draw since rypien sominated the start and reich dominated the end. no body got finished though. rypien is still the best pound for pound fighter in the nhl. murray is huge compared to him. had rypien not had his jersey stuck over his head and saw it all the way, not sure if he would win but would stand a far better chance.
