sergei prokofjew wrote it, but tschaikowski were the onlyone who played it correct between prokofjew !!!

if your doing a project this might help:

originally this piece was meant to be a propganda piece for the Soviet Union. The grandfather was supposed to represent Stalin and Peter, the youth of the state. But Prokofiev upon reading the script for he was to compose for, rewrote the story and created Peter to defy his expected role. So it became almost like counterrevolutionary, rebel music. Leaked out the west and was immediately loved.
