@ninjamattzx6 correction! 'well you got a better way of making a opening?????' it should be 'well you've got a better way of making an opening??????' :)
we are in the fens,a small area in eastern england, is mainly peat soils but has areas of clay in it what used to be river beds years ago hence the clumps, we normaly have none and travel at 3 mph with 40mm webs
The last year we grew spuds we tried out a Grimme harvester. We were digging 2 rows with 6 rows windrowed in between them with a yield of 300 CWT per acre. The Grimme had no problem handling it at 7.5 MPH and it took about 8 minutes to fill the 22 foot potato box on the truck with 17 ton.
that cart driver is shit he running all over the rowes

very nice.
here in my country we're just becoming to use harvester machines for crops like potatoes.
Do you use your own seeds? (i mean seed = potato).
and if you do that, how much of the yield percentage do you destine for that?

I can remember when this was done using a spinner digger and squads of people. The tatties were dressed in the field and put in cloth bags.
If they were to be kept, then they were put in pits and covered with earth and straw.

maybe they harvested it with a little bit high soil moisture. Furthermore, that is a peat soil.
