The death penalty has been outlawed in every Australian state for decades. Why is this even necessary? Regardless of successive governments claiming it will never be re-instated, there is plenty of evidence that this does not reflect community opinion, particularly regarding the heinous crimes some murderers have committed.

I'm entirely for the death penalty for child killers and gang rapist-murderers. Why does Singapore have such a low crime rate? Because they use corporal and capital punishment as a deterrent. Personally, I'd hang the murderers of Anita Cobby,Janine Balding, Kylie Maybury, Ebony Simpson, Virginia Morse, Roslyn Nolte etc free of charge.Why should thse slimebags get 3 meals a day, medical attention and a bed, care of the taxpayer?

The Liberals are the only party out of step on actively opposing the death penalty in Australia.
