1. a wolf rarely travels alone and i mean like .5% of the time you see it alone unless its baiting an animal to think its along and its pack is flanking for an ambush.

2. if the wolf got the cougar on the ground he would go for the throat its and instinct wolves have to attack the throat.

3. wolves are not stupid they know when to back down and take a loss and if the pack is that close he will play with the cougar until the pack arrives and then the cougar is in trouble

Wolves hardly ever aim for the throat of their prey - that is a characteristic of big cats, so in this case it would be more likely to see the cougar bite the neck of the wolf.

Wolves (even a pack) would avoid a cougar at all costs. Cougars are deadly even to a pack (which is usually made up of about 5/6 wolves), so they wouldn't "jump" the cougar. Fighting is a waste of energy and health, so wolves do not ambush other predators for no reason.

Please, someone who disagrees with you is not an automatic 'retard'. A cat will always beat a dog in a one-on-one fight, and this can be easily seen in situations where a small cat would chase off a much larger dog. As in this fight, here, the cougar has much more ways to attack the wolf, with its four claws to even go as far as manipulating the poor pup as it shredded the defenceless dog. Superior agility, weaponry, strength. The wolf's own intelligence won't save it.

Just wondering... Have these people ever seen a real male wolf? I have and it would have been perfectly capable of killing a cougar. His paws were bigger than my hand strectched out all the way and his teeth were huge. He was huge. Anothter couple of things. Wolves do not purposely go looking for fights.
