I just won an online auction - I'm getting a Game Boy again (the original big grey model) and Tetris, Pokémon and of course, Kirby. There are excellent emulators but it just doesn't feel the same as playing on the real thing.

In my opinion this is the best game for the Game Boy and one of the best games ever. Beautiful graphics (love the tree - my favourite video game boss, and Kirby's dance is so cute), catchy music and simple, original gameplay.

Game Dude hates it 'cause you can't copy powers and you can fly forever. 2 things about that. 1. I like the fact that you can't copy powers in this game. It gives it more of a challenge. 2. If you don't like that you can fly forever, then don't.

Right! This is the first Kirby game, and it wasn't until Kirby's Adventure on the NES that Kirby could copy enemy powers. I cannot wait for the 3DS eShop so i can download all these awesome games that i missed out on!!!!

Yeah, you could earn powers in later Kirby games - however, Kirby's Dream Land was the very, very, VERY first Kirby game ever.

@bish578: yup, but not the way you're used to in kriby games. you don't earn powers by swallowing enemies, but by collecting certain items. the curry grants you the fire power, the potato grants you the... er... bloated-steamcloud-shooting-ki­rby power, the bomb blasts through all enemies in its path, the mic destroys all enemies on the screen and the candy grants you invulnerability. however, all of these are only short-term abilities, so you spend most of the game as standard kirby ^^
