They can at times, they can use the 7 jet as a spare if needed.

IIRC #4 is the slot pilot. I think i might be use to train new Blue's for the next year.

No he didn't. I went to that airshow and it was perfect in the morning but severe thunderstorms were rolling in at this time. In fact, it started raining when the Blues made their delta head-on pass. Essentially the show was over as soon as the six jets landed. I got up as far as the High Alpha pass before me and my family left because my mom saw lightning and we had to get out of there because of the bad weather.
