the part at 0:16 always scared the crap out of me as a child, but the meaning behind the song scares me still today. Societies with entrenched ideas, that refuse to see new ideas will eventually face disaster.
My students' favorite song. Scared the bajeebers out of them on the first crashing chord. The music program was eventually killed off. The pablum pukes rue the the day. The kids are numb. I'm gone. Like Benjamin Button said, "Nothing ever stays the same." Fun while it lasted. Tom
I saw Harry live in concert five times, just turned 50.....was in my late teens, early 20's when I saw him. My brother turned me on to him and he will be 58 tomorrow. Harry left this earth way too soon! Awesome live, great show, great man, he basically died broke because he gave all of his money to starving people throughout the world. Not the greatest voice of all time, but live he is great......blows anyone away with songwriting! Hands down, the best songwriter! This song is great!
From the time I first bought the album this was featured on, I have thought The Rock is a parable for our times. An ignored parable. When might our human intelligence overcome our animal short sightedness?
Cool I saw him with his brother tom unplugged in 1980 at southern ct st college. this song and sniper was awsome and the world is not a better place to be without Harry.
You did a super job on this video. I've been thinking for years about doing something to this song. I wanted to actually act something out with my nieces and nephews but we never got all the video done. This was a great way to do something with this dramatic song.
a well compilated video to a beautiful song, the song always makes me wonder of our own mortality, and how ignorant we all are of it. great compilation.
Live Chapin is hard to come by... and he was before my time as well.. Died before my mother could see him in Concert... Lovely, Imaginate, Touching, Beautiful songs
I'm currently working on a cartoon for this, I have it all mapped out in my head and about 1/4th of it done, it's taken me 3 months so far lol, but it's comming along GREAT!
Live Cbhapin is always better than recorded, and this is a great song from the master storyteller. How was his live performances by the way? He was a little before my time and I never got the chance to see him perform. God rest his soul. Another great artist and humanitarian taken well before his time. RIP Harry. You are missed.

Very, very good video. Saw Harry once with my wife to be way back when. Saw Thor's Hammer in Bryce. Check out Balanced Rock in Arches Natl Park.
