Dear God there are certain elements of the 70s that are so kitsch and embarrassing. This is definitely one of them. This makes me cringe. Dear God this is bad.
@RayL1983 ha ha ha soooo funny! My fav is "You make me feel mighty real" by Sylvester. You should see that video. I don't care I love it anyway and that music makes me happy.
Obviously this is after Smokey Robinson had left the group. But this song right here rocks! As good or maybe even better than anything while Smokey was still with them.I loved the 70's and 80's and I loved watching Soul Train, and this white boy could groove with the best of 'em.Wish those days were back here now, that's for sure.
@zambezi90 That is Miracles 2nd Tenor BOBBY ROGERS . He was also the one that did the co- lead vocals with Smokey on the groups' 2nd million-seller, YOU'VE REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME.
After they sing 'and I become confused', what are the next lyrics? It sounds like Billy is singing about 'an electric cooze', but that can't POSSIBLY be it.
@thatsrightisaidit909 - natural hair, those were the days. But lots of black people these days consign themselves to poverty by spending all their little money on their hair. I know...this girl i hook up with about once a month is poor, black, 21, broke, jobless, with a baby, and any money she gets goes right to the hair shop to by some fake hair. Forty to sixty dollars at a time.
And the hair only lasts for a few days, weeks maybe.
@arreboy12 that's what brought me here. I always crack up when I hear this song now. Between that "Oooh hoo hoo YEAH!" at the beginning of the song and just imagining the counselor from the movie start his freak out dance
remember this when it came out i was 12 yrs old .. we use to dance on the sidewalk with an radio....kday 1580 here in los angeles and kgfj eadio 1230 am radio dail
The 70's had the best music ever. You will never as good of dance music or great classic rock. And has anyone noticed you can understand all the words?
Oh my, I agree! I've been saying that since I was young & growing up in the 70's & 80's even! I mean, yeah, there were some great songs out of the 80's, BUT, most of the music out of the 80's had a cheesy feel to it, more colorful with names like Culture Club, & Wham, etc...Where the 70's was pure talent & THE decade in music, & always will be!!
Personally I don't think the music is great. But, I just wish I was around that decade so I could participate in the dancing and fun that the fans were doing on this song. Because it just looks damn fun. Now its just smoking and drinking at concerts.
The music in 1970s was good but that decade also gave a fair amount of dross. We only recall these tunes because that's what they are: the best of that decade. The 1970s also produced Slick, Mud, Bay City Rollers, Chicory Tip, Osmonds, the Nolans, Showaddywaddy Liquid Gold .... the list is endless. The reason we dont recall them is because they were instantly forgettable and I apologise for reminding us of them and mentioning them on the same page as a great act like the Miracles
Yes, Even it appears on a tragic episode, with the sudden demise of Billy...And he hears this music while seeing on a allucination Ally and the others women of the legal firm dancing, too.
@thechrz24 There is no comparison. In the seventies unlike the eighties the music sounded just as good live as it did in the studio. There were a lot more different musical instruments played in just about every song. Those days are gone.
@playwithme30 True, the 1960's had it share of great music. But the 1970's was more diversed, refined and more dancable. And the recording was far superior.
@ddja57 ok this totally sucks!!!!!! i wish i was born in the 70's just to get to hear the bands when they were actually touring. But still after almost 30 years this song still rocks!
Nobody thought that THE MIRACLES would have another hit after SMOKEY ROBINSON left the group..The MIRACLES SURE PROVED THEM WRONG.
