Really easy with a 5-foot net. I used one for the first time last night with basically your technique and it was easy. Caught a few shiners, too...and some bream and crappie.
I feel like a moron...I wasn't wrapping up the rope in one hand and I cast it with the opposite hand first, did not start off with the hand with the rope. I suck...
I just went out and tried this technique. So simple and yet so effective! Thanks for sharing. I had just started to get frustrated with my net, and you saved the day!

How tall are you? That looks like a 4 footer unless maybe you're pretty tall?
