Without having heard much of Yawning Man, I bought Vista Point. It was a disappointment. But then by chance I looked back in my text document where I'd listed a shit tonne of bands to check out, saw "Colour Haze", been listening to a load of their stuff over the past few days and this is exactly what I was after. Just about to buy a couple of their albums.
in the past decades there were always shitty music on the parades too, even in the 50s, 60s... if you check the billboards for this decades youll see that theres a bunch of music that were just forgotten 4ever and things like rolling stones were like secondary grade band, but we romanticise that it were all good stuff then because we only know what turned into classics... whole lotta love was n° 28 for 1970, rolling stones 3rd for 1969(with the archies for 1st).. so stop being naive, dumb fckrs
It's true music today sucks but you should consider yourself blessed for living in an age where technology allows you access to such a vast database of music to experience. In the past, there was never a medium such as this where rare music like this could be found at your fingertips. Stop focusing on what you do not have, and learn to appreciate what the gifts you do.
You all need to quit bitching about being born in your generation. The masses will always have their mainstream and we will have our music. Rejoice that such diversity is present in our generation. Don't be ignorant, its the cancer of society.
@crustymetaldude this is entirely true, the thing that is a shame is that music which holds some kind of intrinsic quality (such as colour haze) is marginalized and difficult to find. The mainstream ends up being the filler material to dilute the pool of great music which we search so long for.
im 16 im sick of the bullshit mainstreem music like justin bieber and all this rap and shit. THis is actual music. Now one of my favorite bands after finding them

omg complete Kyuss rip off. This sounds like the entire Blues for the Red Sun and Welcome to Sky Valley albums combined. They get an F for originality. Apothecaries Weight meets Demon Clear anyone? Pfffft....
@blutundboden : jeez... I feel sorry for all you guys who reduce every band who has been influenced by Kyuss to a mere "rip-off". First off: the Kyuss influence on CH is existant and it's great! You should be glad there are bands out there who keep the legacy alive and keep developping it.
But pretty please with sugar on the top: if you listen to several of their tracks and tell me they sound "just like any Kyuss song/album", then, mate, you don't know the first thing about music. cheers.
@bakkagaijin76 I did listen to many of their tracks, and the fact that you don't recognize that this is complete and total Kyuss worship/ripp-off tells me that you don't know the first thing about music. Explain to me how they have "developed" Kyuss' legacy? Why do I need a thousand Kyuss ripp-off bands to keep it alive when I can just listen to the 4 Kyuss full length albums themselves?
The guitarist blatantly rips off Josh Homme riffs left and right and you call it keeping a legacy alive.LOL
Seriously? How exactly CH'z guitarist rips off Homme? I don't know what have you been smoking, they sound nothing alike. From what I recall Stefan Koglek uses completely different set of pedals and effects, if there's worship of anything, it is more of 60-70s era heavy/psychedelic rock sound. Don't get me wrong, I love Kyuss just as much, but they have a quite different vibes. Not to mention that CH started to play at about the same time-period, when Kyuss were still around.
Are you under the impression that copying work has never happened in the music industry before? Even The Doors copied loads of music. Just enjoy the sounds, man.
The thing i hate at the moment is that when I'm listening to great stuff like this in youtube, there is ALWAYS a comment about some people not appreciating the good kind of music and how wrong it is that justin bieber/jonas brothers/snoop dogg/akon etc.. have more fame and views, but if you think about it, what is actually wrong with it? Even if they would deserve more attention, it doesn't mean they want it. Maybe this is the best way for them. JUST ENJOY the fucking music, will you please. :)
Colourhaze are in a land, river, mountain of their own making!!!
For those who say its boring, then tune out and listen to something else.. I still havnt gotten to see them live, missed Dunajam 2010 but not 2011!! They are a band that rises and falls in tone and from a simple head nod to a punching air head bang!! Soothes and satisfies like a mellow tobacco!!
Long live Colour Haze..

is such a shame that music of this genre doesnt get the credit it deserves, or on youtbe at least, only 12.784 wiews when snoop dogg has like 7o million, dont get me wrong i love snoop but musically this is better
@fuzzyclownz : without a doubt, mate, these guys and so many more out there are way better musicians than so many crappy artists or fucked up brains who earn their asses off... while these talented fellas here can only just survive as professional musicians.
Seems to me, however, that recently CH have had a way wider public reception, also thanks to utube. Also, people seem to realize that if they want great bands to keep making good music, they have to actually buy the music... ;)
@fuzzyclownz they can have that shtuff while we enjoy this what many would consider obscure music its beautiful to us to the ones that appreciate it, at least i do. Anyways this is sick.
@fuzzyclownz to be honest, i'm a little bit happy about the fact that stonerrock is not too mainstream. don't get me wrong, i think it's sad that a lot of real good bands can't even afford to live from their music but it's cool when you go to a show where you can enjoy music in it's purest form with people who want the same and don't care about the car that the band is driving/ the girls they're f***ing...
True words. I prefer small venues, intimate shows, listening to new or obscure non-mainstream bands anyday.
Large shows are full of crowd-pleaser hits, choreographed crap, $45 t-shirts for the masses and TicketBastard fees. No, gracias.
Ensembles like C. Haze, My Sleeping Karma, B. B. & the Bros. and Karma to Burn lead the pack of bands with minimal vocals and few instruments that deliver an amazing sound that goes deeper than the ear canal.
@zeppelin88ab lol I just said I don't like the sellout auto tune rap, i like snoops g-funk era. And seriously, how can you get sand in your vagina because someone likes different kinds of music than you do (although he/she also likes the kind you like) and by the way, it's spelled "you're", second of all, you should use the form "your" since you're stands for "you are". But I guess if you're too retarded to spell, why even argue with you...
@heavydiggari nice south park reference, that took a lot of thought... also who the fuck are you a grammar nazi? who the fuck cares, its the ideas that count not a few grammar mistakes over the internet
that's because you do not know how to differentiate well between the branches of the stoner, for me it is very remarkable the way each album is directed to, the difference between the last album and the rest is still more remarkable.
srsly the first albums sounds like a not too good black sabbath coverband.....in my opinion their sound has improved like its a completly different band now
