I think both Mary J. Blige and Beyonce can sing, but their styles are completely different. Mary J. Blige has more of a soulful voice and when you feel down you can turn to her music. Beyonce has more of a pop voice and when you hit the club her music is good. Instead of beating both down, we should look at the good qualities of both.
The only thing about MJB is that her "ear" and pitch accuracy can be off at times. Takes too many liberties at times but she has the fullness and the soul with her voice/tone. I think both Mary J. Blige and Beyonce can sing, but their styles are completely different. Mary J. Blige has more of a soulful voice and when you feel down you can turn to her music. Beyonce has more of a pop voice and when you hit the club her music is good. Instead of beating both down, we should look at the good qualities of both.

The only thing about MJB is that her "ear" and pitch accuracy can be off at times. Takes too many liberties at times but she has the fullness and the soul with her voice/tone.
