I first saw Latin Quarter at Newcastle Uni in 1986 and this was their opener. it blew me away and I've been a fan ever since; such an underrated group. I agree with camshaftuk about Bringing Rosa Home. The lyrical skills of Mike Jones are incredible. All the best to Steve Skaith who I know tunes in here

Yeah, absolutely. I met them a few times as I roadied with a band called Real by Reel that supported them up and down the country. Its funny to remember days and soundchecks and these and other faces hanging about waiting to perform - so long ago. Love X
Nice song ,excellent lyrics from this underrated 80's British band . Radio Africa is even better than this song but almost unknown in America ....cheers!!
As a fan of LQ for years I agree with djerry2006, they are one of only a few bands who can actually make the hairs on my neck stand up when I hear them. To fully appreciate them you need to understand the lyrics. My favourite album of thiers is Bringing Rosa Home.Buy it and you won't regret it!
If you want to know what has been happening to at least some of Latin Quarter, you can go either to the steveskaithband at myspace, or the website mexiledotcom
The Modern Times cover artwork always reminds me of 9/11, but this was 16 years earlier, how strange! Latin Quarter will be more needed than ever today, just thinking about the song Toulouse: "No one will be working here when they bring in CNC"! That's so true! Manythanks for putting this up, duttaji! Maybe you have more Latin Quarter stuff to put up! That would be great!
What a sexy drummer that is!!!! hmmmm yummy!!!

Super talented band whose lyrics were never going to curry favour with mainstream radio, hence they never really got the credit they deserved...

Damn. I'd forgotten how intelligent and balanced the politics in the lyrics were!
1980's girls hairstyles weren't so bad as mens in retrospect.

This should have been a big hit. I don't understand what it doesn't have that your average hit song in the 80s does.

This song to me confirms that Latin Quarter was the most under estimated band of the 80s even at You Tube there are only a few videos.
