As a musician, I'm going to step up and say the reason W.A.S.P., as much fun as they have been over 30 years, have never had commercial success is because Blackie can't seem to write a song that doesn't have the "Iron Maiden" chord progression (vi-IV-V) in it, hence all their stuff sounds pretty much identical, save the lyrics.

W.A.S.P. didn't stop playing Forever Free because it was radio friendly. they wrote 60 more songs since and had no time to play it because they're a whole new band now and Forever Free was probably dropped in favor of playing more of the new stuff... try some fact finding before you pull things outta your ass.

W.a.s.p never sold out like Metallica, that's why you'll never hear them on the radio! In fact, W.a.s.p. stopped playing "Forever Free" at their live shows BECAUSE it was radio friendly!
