I don't really understand how this is viewed as a happy love song. Yes, the music is beautiful and poignant, but it's about the tragedy of love, not the triumph. Nothing speaks to me more of a long and passionate relationship falling apart at the seams. "Your "I Love You"...and I can feel it bleeding" does not signify budding romance, but rather the opposite. I think some have selective hearing :P

I don't understand...if anyone's actually been through the emotional turmoil that the lyrics in this song express, it's not about budding romance at all, it's about losing a long passionate love affair, and that breathless moment when you finally realize that it's over and will never be the same. I have to say...I don't really understand why everyone thinks this is a great make-out song. It reminds me of two of the saddest moments of my life. The song is about the moment at the end of a long, passionate relationships, when they realize that it's truly over. It expresses that emotion better than any song I've ever heard, in any genre.
