Your quote adds to God's word by your standard these quotes about adding to God's word repeats in both the old and new testaments and therefore by your standard there should be nothing after the old testament where it first states not to add to God's word. The early pioneer trek was a tradedy! People gave all of their money to the church and they could never get back home. They died along the way and left broken families. Brigham never supported the soldiers starving families. LDS apologists will say the money was used for wagons, when it was used for Brighams Mansion.

I've read about the Mormon-produced movie Legacy about the Mormon "pioneers" and how the history has been almost entired revised. It's also interesting to note that the Mormons who moved west are considered trailblazers by the church, when, in reality, they simply followed the Oregon Trail for most of the trip.

Your quote adds to God's word by your standard these quotes about adding to God's word repeats in both the old and new testaments and therefore by your standard there should be nothing after the old testament where it first states not to add to God's word. This means the particular books should not be added to. For example you probably get this idea from the quote in revelations which in the original was not the last book of the new testiment!

The early pioneer trek was a tradedy! People gave all of their money to the church and they could never get back home. They died along the way and left broken families. Brigham Young asked the US government to take 1000 men to serve the military to make more money. The Gov. only took 500 men and Brigham kept all of the pay of the Mormon Battalion. Brigham never supported the soldiers starving families. LDS apologists will say the money was used for wagons, when it was used for Brighams Mansion.

I've read about the Mormon-produced movie Legacy about the Mormon "pioneers" and how the history has been almost entired revised. It's also interesting to note that the Mormons who moved west are considered trailblazers by the church, when, in reality, they simply followed the Oregon Trail for most of the trip.
That said, it was a tragedy that those people bought into the Mormon lie and died for their mistake. May God have mercy on them.

The church will proclaim honor and boldness to the members who made the trek and forget about the leaders that stole their money and sent them into poverty. This poverty was prevalant in Utah for almost 20 years after the members arrived in Salt Lake. The leaders are the ones that made out like bandits. If you are related to one of the founding leaders or have one of those special names you are praised today. I agree on mercy. I would not want to be in a self righteous position to meet God.

beachlady78 Many Mormons are too afraid to look properly unfortunately. They see that those who start to investigate almost always end up leaving the church or at least never having that same Zeal(brainwash) as before.
The good news is that more and more are coming to terms with the fraudulent origins and many are being saved from being sucked into it in the first place thanks to the availabilty of information which prior was not readily available to the average member.

kind of like Catholics. The Catholic faith was manipulated whenever a need arose. the whole pay a fee and get relatives out of hell is one example. another is praying to saints. It NEVER says in the bible you are supposed to do that. It in fact says to pray DIRECTLY to god. But Catholics seem to ignore that for their own reasons. The Catholic and Mormon faiths are quite similar in that regard. does that mean Christianity is bull crap? I don't know, BUT I KNOW MORMONISM IS.

Thank you very much. As an exrocat (ex-Roman Catholic), I can attest to this. As a matter of fact, the chuch of my childhood clearly taught that all others, non-Catholics, went straight to hell, something not so taught today.
Mormonism is cut from the same cloth, revising their own history to suit the current climate and changing doctrines when they're no longer seen as relevant.

Elohim or Eloheim is plural and means Gods. It is not a name but a title. Latter Day Saints refer to the Father as Elohim but this is not his name but his title. (One of the Gods) As Paul said, there are Gods many and Lords many, but to us there is one God and one Father . If Jehovah (Jesus Christ) is the father of Michael who is the father of Jesus Christ then Jehovah is his own Father. This cannot be.

Read on. If you will do you will see that right after that line you cite Lewis says that the sin is in trying to 'be like gods' on our own, independent of God THAT is, in Lewis's words, the sin. Yet that's not what our theology teaches at all, God will always be our Father and we will always be under Him in Glory. So we STILL line up with the theology described by Lewis in connection to the idea of becoming (again Lewis's own words) gods and goddesses.

Hive- In his book on Miracles, there is a chapter on 'The Grand Miracle.' That chapter is about the Incarnation. What is 'meant' by the Incarnation? Simply that God became a man. Near the end of the chp "But only a Man who did not need to have been a Man at all unless He had chosen, ..." Certainly does not sound very Mormon.
