It's closed because he's cupping his hands slightly, making the skin of his hand close up the wound, making it not leak, and when he's spreading open his hand, the skin pulls back and the wound opens. Second flaw with this is that crucifixion would be done with thick nails, not sharp objects (big wounds). Third flaw is that the nails was not put through the hands, but the wrist. Why people keep doing this kind of bullshit, I don't know. Don't cut yourself, dammit.
