i spent the last hour learning the song from your lesson but i found its much easier to switch, the middle and ring finger on the first chord. i find it allows you to use your ring finger to hammer on rather then your pinky.

I agree with that, it also allows you to switch to the next chord fast and easy too you just need to slide you ring over one fret

this song uses a single coil pickup...that would be your "normal" guitar. a humbucker is great for green day or canon rock because it can offer better distorted tones without the hum.

RHCP uses a fender strat with a single coil pickup in the neck position for this song. I'm sure you could get a similar sound out of a humbucker as well, so long as there is no distortion.

hey i use your strumming technique, but when i strum on those first three notes for each chord, they don't each ring out like yours does. they blend together. do you get wat i'm saying? i'm having a hard time explaining wat i mean. if i do it slower, its too slow, but if i do it faster they notes blend together.
