listened to some stuff by your band, it's not too bad but you're wasting your talent playing that stuff man...but if you like doing it, then more power to you.
Well played man, had a quick look at your band. They are not too bad but your wasting your time playing that stuff. But if you enjoy it, i guess thats all that matters. You would suit playing alongside the guitarist of my band :)
Excellent. Very impressive playing. I'll just throw in a small suggestion; in the first minute or so, it sounded to me like some wah pedal work wouldn't have gone amiss.
but seriously dude. did you go to a super high educated top student music school or what because your playing is like a 40 year old (wich means it's really really good :p)
Hey man, good stuff, you are very talented, the only criticism I can really give is that you dont feel the music enough, but thats probably down to the music being a backing track, if you arent already in a band you need to get in one to feel the energy of the music, also try some dirtier guitar styles to give more variation eg kurt cobain style solos, granted they arent super technical but they have huge feeling to them (especially the early nirvana stuff)
Practise playing along to minor and MAJOR backing tracks and try and remember or write down phrases/ licks that ring out when your improvising. If it sounds good it is.
I used this book that came with a Backing CD .... Exploring Jazz guitar by Phil Capone!
thanks ill check out that book real quick. and that really is a great idea to try and keep track of the licks/phrases that come to me while improvising, usually i just do whatever comes to mind.
First section is just a backing in A aelion/ natural minor - Jazz section is a vamp going between C major and C minor (Play the third of C to figure out which ones which).
Sick ass playing. But whats with the fuck in the backround? Kills it man. You shuld use this shit in like some technical death, if you put in a little dissonance and shake the rhythm around to make it a little more complicated, you could do amazing shit. <- Anyways thats all just personal preference. good job.
Ernie Ball Axis - No but I still went to the college (ICMP) and its great.
It was just a Cm to C major vamp so i just took chords and melodies from C major scale and C Aeolian and landing on chord tones ( The root third fifth and seventh of C)
You're very well practiced, for what its worth. 2 things:
Lose the bad shred tone.
None of the solo was memorable. Slow down, develop your ideas. Can you sing your solo while you're playing? Doing so will help you become a much more lyrical player and not just someone playing scale ideas as fast as possible.
Yeah I agree it was a shit metal solo I don't play shred any more I really like jazz and funk and thats all about lyrical phrasing and motific developement.
well... here another one influence that u might like it... he is one of my favorites... guthrie govan... and a criticism... well try not put ur fingers so high... hope u can understand... i dont know how to say because im speack spanish not english.... check TIAGO DELLA VEGA technic and ull see... keep playing ... best wishes...
nice brother but heres the criticism, add some more jazz to the rock section, and some more chromatic playing and that would tighten the screws so much with somme more legato and very nice job
Now you did ask for criticism and here it is. At first it was hard to identify any criticism because you are a spectacular guitarist and a young age. Here it is. USE YOUR PINKY MORRRRRRRRRRE!!!!! yeah you can get away with hardly using your picky but why would you? You are amazing and with that pinky you can become even more amazing. all in all its a good mate, but i think you should try phrasing more than insane shred alot.
So find a small melody you like and build your solo around it, and for jazz try to play like a brass instrument or vocalist . =]
