A good list would of been Proclamation, Diocletian, Witchrist, Abhorer etc. stuff like that. Anyway none of those bands trample old school albums like Onward To Golgotha, Dawn Of Possession, To The Depths In Degradation etc. or new releases from Funebrarum, Ignivomous, Vasaeleth, Father Befouled etc...

@666deathghost Slow? Usually the tempos and time signatures vary tremendously. There are bands that play nothing but blast beat whirlwinds to Death/Doom bands that slow down to a crawl. And the music being aggressive or not is all in the mind of who's listening to it. We already went over that.

Metallica was something back in the 80's, when Thrash metal was actually decent. Unfortunately their old shit is dated and their new shit appeals to shitheads....in all fairness Death Magnetic is a step in the right direction for them, but I still wouldn't buy it. Metallica had their day, and were very important. They deserved their peice of the pie until they released the Back album, but it's time to move on....(IMHO)

I'll be honest. I actually enjoy a fair amount of the more polished, "commercial" black and death metal but I also fucking LOVE filthy, raw, ugly underground metal. Teitanblood is a top notch example of the latter.
