horrible test. two different shooters. two different bows. plus the fat one has the nastiest draw ive ever seen in my life. thats too heavy of a draw weight...ew
i dont usually use all that expandible blade shit, you dont need to get all high tech about it. indians used to throw sticks at deer and kill. i use the thunderhead, and ive never lost a deer. but this past season ive tried the 2 blade bloodrunner, and killed 4 does, the buck was killed with the thunderhead. and rage is cheep as fuck, my brother uses them.
i dont want to sound like a broken record, but you cant compare too different things coming out of two different things..shoot the same bow, same shooter, same arrow, same fletch..get it all good and ill take your input..nice effort tho! B+!!
were the blades on that rage open wen u shot? it nlooked like they were, but even nif they werent, the rage are terrible, i shot 4 deer with them last year, didnt find 1 nof them, didnt even find my arrows. I shoot the bloodrunner 2 blade now and let me tell ya, they stand up to their name, i couldnt believe the blood trails. and btw that was not an accurate test, u should have shot both broadheads with the same bow, the KE was diff along with diff poundage and arrow weight
Turn your bow down, good luck trying to draw back on a deer with all that motion. And not bad but if your actually testing just the broadheads, you need to use the same equipment. Obviously the hoyt is gunna out penetrate ( i shoot hoyt)
@G5bowhunter No thanks brother. The Rage has been good to me. At my camp 19 animals with the Rage and no complaints. All I have to do is change a blade every now and then like most broadheads on the market. In fact I used the same Rage blades to take three deer and finally had to give in and replace them. BIG wound and short blood trails. That's the whole idea and it works great for me. I ain't changing what works, PERIOD. Good luck closing the season, brother.
I agree with athom, it will make a huge difference, especially overall arrow weight. Combine that with a different speed and your KE can differ dramatically... Though, i am a fan of rage and hoyt so i approve
we did the same test using 3/4 inch plywood. Same bow (mathews dxt) same arrow. using every broadhead we could find including Rage. Most went to the widest part of the blade and stopped. The Muzzy's blew up. The rage didnt even get through the back side. The one head that went through not once but three times before it broke was the Sonic made by American Broadhead Company. Happy Huntin.
to the first kid what kind of draw back is that my girlfreind was able to pull a 70 pound bow back better than the the first time learn to control your draw pussy
well no crap the rage penetrated more it was the two blade, if you had the two blade bloodrunner it would have been a fair contest and the bloodrunner would have done work.
weather that kid likes it or not, it is true to shoot the same setup out of the same bow. whatever the first bow he is shooting ill tell ya is not better than the hoyt carbonmax. so shoot it out of the same bow then we will see.
What is the draw weight, draw lengths and IBO on the (2) bows? The difference in fletching, nocks and inserts can increase or decrease KE which will make a difference, but like hogwild2212 said to remove any unforseen variables you have to shoot both heads by the same shooter with the same setup. Thanks for sharing.
@athomPT........... Draw Weight-65 pounds, Draw Length-27 inch, Honestly is it going to make that much of a difference? No not really at all! Thanks for the input thou
@TacticalOutdoorsTV believe it or not, it makes a huge difference, every single bow has a huge difference on the way the shoot. I agree with what the other two have said about the setups and everything.
@TacticalOutdoorsTV yeah it will have a huge difference im sorry for sounding mean but it will im manager at the largest mathews dealer in iowa and ive seen about anything rage are very good broadheads when used rite and babysitted but the blood runners are a little large and tend to plain wind if you hunt them both right they both will kill anything short of a dinosaur good video keep em coming and if you ever have a question about anything archery related just shoot me a message
@TacticalOutdoorsTV Yes it does make a difference, if the draw lengths and weights are exactly the same then not a huge difference, also first shooter needs to dial down his draw weight, you should be able to draw that bow straight back.
@athomPT Unfortunately yes it would make a difference. If one bow is shooting faster than the other, it may have more penetration, but what you wanna deal with is how much kinetic energy each arrow has at the point of impact. Kinetic energy allows more penetration and even a pass through on the arrow. To do an accurate test everything needs to be the same. The only thing that should be different is the broadhead that you are testing.
You might wanna think about using the same bow and same arrow combination when doin these tests. There's to many different variables that can control the outcome in a test like this.
@hogwild2212...... I agree, But also both bows have the same draw poundage, and the arrows are the exact same except for different nocks, and fletchings, and inserts, so there really isnt going to be a difference if you use the same bow. Also the rage is a 2 blade witch your going to have more penetration than a 3 blade but the 3 blade is going to take out a huge chunch compared to the rage... All in all, I will be shooting the Bloodrunner this year. Thanks for the comment thou bro

That's the Ugliest draw I have ever seen. Give ur daddy back his bow and go practice a little more at a lower poundage.
