  • @wowwowwiwow WELL SAID! recent DNA testing found the only nations directly related to ancient Celts were the west coast of Scotland and the basque region of Spain.

  • @MrCrumbsinthebutter

What absolute rubbish! Most of Scotland's west coast has very strong Norse influences, not to mention Pictish influence. Celtic geneology is found through all of Scotland and the rest of Europe, including England!

  • can someone tell me the meaning of the tittle ?

  • Alasdair, Son of Gallant Colla

  • Zwierzchnik is right. The song is a Waulking song (waulking is a way of treating tweed fabric, usually by groups of women working on a long table to the rhythm of a song - in Gaidhlig Òrain Luaidh). This one is from the 17th Century and the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, from the Royalist perspective.

  • @CHEKOUPI2 Allisdair Mac Colla was born on the Island of Colonsay, Scotland. Although he was the architect of the victories won by James Grahame Earl of Montrose Mac Colla was very much his own man. He led a small but formidable army of Scots and Irish warriors and his agenda was to drive the Campbells off Mc Donald lands and restore Catholicism to Scotland. For someone who helped shape Scottish history little is known of him,he remains a very mysterious individual.

  • @sharkyjena Wrong its both i just wiki'ed it

  • @WorgenInATopHat whats wrong ??

  • @sharkyjena you said ireland is celtic you failed to mention its scottish/irish

  • @sharkyjena:

First, if you've already corrected/clarified this statement, forgive me. Haven't time to go thru all these comments, LOL

Yes, of course "Ireland is Celtic", but I hope you didn't mean to say "ONLY Ireland is Celtic" because that's simply wrong . Cornwall (England), Wales, Isle of Man, Brittany (France), Galicia/Asturia (Spain), and most definitely SCOTLAND are all Celtic. (If I've left out any "Celtic Family" members, please forgive me. :-))

  • @sharkyjena

True that. In fact, I think that the Celts originated in Ireland then moved into Scotland way back when.

  • @CharlieStanebayers No the celts originated in turkey and were all over europe including Britain and Ireland. The Gaels were Irish and the Cruithne or Picts who were native Scots lived there too as they did all over Britain and Ireland. No one peoples can be considered to original or more celtic.

  • @seonidh Turkey? Seriously? Wow, that's really weird.

Also I never said that any one nation was more Celtic than another :/

  • @CharlieStanebayers well you said,

"I think that the Celts originated in Ireland"

that of course is incorrect Celtic culture (the art, style) actually is La Tene culture that originated in Switzerland check it out.

  • @seonidh

Ok, no offense mate, but that's just oversensitive

I never meant in any way that Ireland was more Celtic than any other nation, I just meant that I thought that's where they started out. Eesh

  • @CharlieStanebayers cool its fine dont worry about it

  • @seonidh K, cool

  • Celtic cruising tune

  • HAHAHA! Thank you so much for uploading this song! I have this song on my cassette! I love this song! : )

  • very beautiful celtic song...
