VI will probably always be the best Final Fantasy ever. The story of any one of the dozen or so playable characters alone outshines any other Final Fantasy game in its totality, and the way they all come together and interact with the epic over-arching narrative is utter brilliance I doubt Squaresoft will ever replicate. The music is to this day Nobuo's best work. He even plagiarized it for VII. & Kefka is 1 of the greatest villains ever, who actually SUCCEEDED in his plan to destroy the world!
