Thanks for such a well thought out video for us newbies at quilting. This has given me a positive attitude to 'go for it' and stop putting myself down for having a basic machine or not the right skills to achieve my goals of making a quilt for each of my five children. You are appreciated, Patsy!
Some time you Should make a video and explain what features each one has to offer cause i am looking for another Pfaff so i have one ready to go to a class with. and i wanted to know what are your favorite two machines out of all 7 of your pfaffs. it would be very helpful to see what your machines have to offer. my grandma has a pfaff expression 2034 and a Creative 1471 i love the 2034.
Patsy...You rock! I've been afraid to try free motion and drop feed dogs, etc. I am now going to give it a try. I'm excited...and yes..a bit leary, but with the test blocks, I'm going to make it work. Practice...practice and I'll practice till I get it right. thank you so much for the great beginning videos. I watch them over and over. Keep them coming.
thank you so much for your tutorials. I have been searching for some for a tutorial that would be more than 2 minutes long not one is as concise as you are-thankfully I came across yours. You're so informative and detailed, thank you again for the info on quilting, I am just beginning to quilt as I have been a sewer of garments for years now and I just am hooked on quilting(never thought I would be lol) Now I know it can be done &I don't have to spend the earth on a quilting machine :-)
What a great series. Thanks so much. Just to let ladies know, if you hit the dollar stores at gardening time they have gardening gloves with sticky plastic fingers and palms which work just great in place of the more expensive quilting gloves.
Sorry, I can't seem to reply directly to questions anymore, so this is the best I can do. Yes, the Machingers quilt gloves are made specifically for quilting. You can get them at quilt shops. As far as the Pfaffs go, I love my Pfaffs, but Pfaff stopped making that line of machines years ago. So, I have been buying them up very cheaply on ebay. I have 7 of them now and they are all basically the same machine.
Hi.Patsy my Question is how many Pfaff's do you own and what do you think about them i have a Pfaff creative 2140 and a Pfaff tiptronic 1069 i love them and was wondering cause i see you sewing on a diffrenet one everytime. Thank you
Thank you for a really helpful tutorial.i found it very interesting.also you are very easy to listen to,which kept my interest going all through the four tutorials!i am definatley going to give it a go.
Fabulous tips! I found you first through your free downloads of free motion stitches and I am delighted to follow it up with your tutorials. I have been free motion quilting for a few years now and feel like I'm getting better the more I practice. Thank you so much for all the great information and for your fun sense of humor too!
outstanding tutorial series .thank you for posting them .I am taking my fist free motion class in two weeks and now I don't have to go in blind .I think this will really help me to be more relaxed and able to learn and enjoy the class as well as the quilting .Thanks again !
One more :-). If you were piecing the top of a quilt, such as a Tshirt quilt, or larger patches, can you free motion quilt over seams relatively easy?? What about over varying types of fabric?? Thanks again! Teresa
I just found the concept of free motion quilting today on YT! I love your beginner tutorials- thank you! A couple questions: what type of thread is best for beginners? Where can I buy the plexiglass table extension and/ or do you know how to make one? Is there an 'ideal' stitch length, and is there any sort of 'standard' or guidelines for just how much stitching you should have- or maybe the minimum- per square foot, 6" square, etc? Is there a blend of fabric and/or batting that would be ide
Wow, I just found you and I love your videos. Can't wait to see all of them. Do you have a suggestion on where to get an extension table besides form the machines company. I found one online, but the reviews for the .com company was terrible and I'm afraid to order from them. Any suggestions?
I am new to machine. I love hand quilting however there are some quilts I'd rather machine quilt. The help you give in these videos has been AWESOME!! The BEST!
What a wonderful module for beginners. Excellent presentation. Thank you so much for putting it together. I'm eager to learn how to do this!

Just watched all the beginning free motion videos. Amazing! Thanks! Question: Are your gloves specific to sewing, or are they general?
