It was then (and still is) a good game.The soundtrack in particular was awesome.When you clicked on the "quit" option the question appeared "BETRAY THE EMPEROR?".How can you not love a game that is really a space marine chaplain?

When I saw the Portal at 4:59 I was thinking they wouldn't dare go through that due to the possibility of the taint of chaos but on a chaos infested ship they were already taking a huge risk . Anyway Sweet Game and it does deserve a sequel! :D

I got it to work fine on XP. Only problems is I have to use the registry editor to make changes to the options, because when I change them in-game they revert to original settings... That, and you have to turn down hardware acceleration for sound all the way if you want it to work properly (for me, anyway.) Otherwise it'll be like... Die before m- BOOM! ahhhh

Warhammer 40k has been around for a very long time, i think about 20 years now, begining as a table top game. to my knowledge they really defined the term space marine and have a huge amount of back story. much more then practically every other game out today, there is no comparison, Gears of war isnt nessecarly ripping off ideas, they just take concepts and make them there own, creating something totally origanal is impossible everyone borrows ideas and expands on them

They have a 4 hour battery within the suit itself; the backpack is just a reactor (I think?)

Anyhoo, I saw a discussion on Dakka a while ago that was about what the backpack was for; and that's what generates the practically indefinite power supply for the armour servos, but there *is* a reserve in the suit itself :)

Does anyone perhaps know how to fix the cultist laser crash thingy? Ive tried editing the WeapDef.dat file to no avail even tho it works for some people... Cuz this game is sooo much better than any Dawn of War...

I heard of two ways two fix it, but have not yet tried.

First way is to install Chaos Gate on C: (and install the 1.1 patch, though it might work without.) and make sure that on the .exe, the compability is UNCHECKED.

Second way would be to use Virtual PC. You can find the program via google, and with correct ram allocation, it's supposed to allow the game run absolutely flawless at original speed.

Personally, I disagree. I think that Dawn of War II is, so far, the best Warhammer game I have played. But, that is my opinion. Chaos Gate looks kinda interesting. Can't wait for the next Warhammer game comin' out for the PS3 and 360. :)

It's a turn-based strategy game made by Random Games, Inc. and published by the once mighty SSI (Strategic Simulations, Inc.).

I was released in 1998, the same year Fallout 2 was released and one year after the Diablo's debut.

Yeah, this one is an oldie (hence the oldish rendered scenes), but it made a stupendous Warhammer 40k franchise debut on the PC.

I have owned this game for like 7 years now it first came out I think in 94, and would have to be my favourite game, if your looking for it you can find it sometimes on ebay, but the music acting and everything just gets you pumped, if you didnt like space marines before you'd love them after playing this game.

The Blood Ravens are Relic's Chapter. Why would they go through the trouble making them up to suddenly stop using them? Other than that, the Ultramarines are the standard space marines, you don't have to do anything extra with them. No matter what, you can't make everyone happy. Someone always has to complain because their favorite didn't get included.
