I like speculative discussion about these different features but the conclusion that Spinosaurus is keeping secrets sounds dumb. They also failed to mention that they found fish scales within the bodies of some fossils. It's not just that their heads look kind of like crocodiles and have sails on their backs like boats do which are also in water.
Fuck Jurassic Park 3!! It was like they not only let Jack Horner pick the dinosaurs but let him direct the film. When the Spinosaurus broke the T-Rex's neck I laughed and said "Jack Horner needs to stick to his Myosaurus's!" because the guy is too much of a fool to notice that although it looks like a crocodile doesn't mean it has the crushing force to break a T-Rex's neck. He needs to take that (ONE!) oversized finned Spinosauridae and masturbate another time rather then ruining Jurassic Park.
I think the temperature control sail hypothosis is the most likley answer. Because if dinosaurs were cold blooded like other reptiles, then the sail could be used to warm up quicker than other dinosaurs and therefore be more acticve and on the hunt for longer. It could also very well have acted like a stegosaur's plates and be used as a mating display at the same time.
I think the notion that it's a water predetor is rediculouse. It isn't built anything like the marine reptiles!
Maybe they stayed small as everything else about them got bigger and was advantageous. for them to used to be big and then start getting smaller, it would of had to been an advantage in survival, smaller armed T-rex`s breeding more than bigger armed ones, and passing on genes for slightly smaller arms again and again surely? maybe i`m wrong but just a thought.
It wasn't so much that smaller arms in itself was advantageous, it was bipedalism that was the big advantage with regards to speed and hunting etc, for which big long arms are just in the way. The arms have to get smaller if youre going to make the transition to bipedalism

Agreed! Being my favorite dinosaur... I hate when they skip out on the Carnotaurus. Its too bad that although they featured it, they did a shitty job on its looks.

I like speculative discussion about these different features but the conclusion that Spinosaurus is keeping secrets sounds dumb. They also failed to mention that they found fish scales within the bodies of some fossils. It's not just that their heads look kind of like crocodiles and have sails on their backs like boats do which are also in water.

Fuck Jurassic Park 3!! It was like they not only let Jack Horner pick the dinosaurs but let him direct the film. When the Spinosaurus broke the T-Rex's neck I laughed and said "Jack Horner needs to stick to his Myosaurus's!" because the guy is too much of a fool to notice that although it looks like a crocodile doesn't mean it has the crushing force to break a T-Rex's neck. He needs to take that (ONE!) oversized finned Spinosauridae and masturbate another time rather then ruining Jurassic Park.

I think the temperature control sail hypothosis is the most likley answer. Because if dinosaurs were cold blooded like other reptiles, then the sail could be used to warm up quicker than other dinosaurs and therefore be more acticve and on the hunt for longer. It could also very well have acted like a stegosaur's plates and be used as a mating display at the same time.
I think the notion that it's a water predetor is rediculouse. It isn't built anything like the marine reptiles!

T-rex`s arms got smaller.
Maybe they stayed small as everything else about them got bigger and was advantageous. for them to used to be big and then start getting smaller, it would of had to been an advantage in survival, smaller armed T-rex`s breeding more than bigger armed ones, and passing on genes for slightly smaller arms again and again surely? maybe i`m wrong but just a thought.

It wasn't so much that smaller arms in itself was advantageous, it was bipedalism that was the big advantage with regards to speed and hunting etc, for which big long arms are just in the way. The arms have to get smaller if youre going to make the transition to bipedalism

Spinosaurus was probably a big gay bear who liked pink berries and flowers with names like daisy and poofpoof. T-Rex on the other-hand used to kick jurassic sand in Spinosauruses pink berry suckin arse.
