@1972FordF150 It looks like the side that connects to the crank case breather and it would make sense kinda that it would keep the choke closed just a bit till the engine warmed up going by the heat of the vapor passing through the crank case.... I believe that was an epa attempt at some kind of emissions thing cause the aluminum ones didnt have that if I remember correctly.
@More350Power I have seen some of the pulsa jet metal carbs have this, but most of them don't. From my experience the carbs with the bi metallic spring there start way easier
Wtf? Now their making there float bowl carbs plastic? Or is that a chock-o-matic? Cause to be honest, I can't tell xD Looks like a blow bolts up to that,
That was probably the worst design Briggs could have ever used, and still uses to this day..Although, maybe not the last year or two. I'm not sure. I haven't been keeping up.
Easy to work on for the most part though! Cheap to replace too! :)
@mbyr31 Yeah, I think they stopped making automatic choke tank mounted carburetors in 1991. These plastic auto chokes do seem to work far better than the primer carburetors. They still use the plastic primer pos carbs but man those things suck. I find it funny that this little cheap automatic choke carburetor is more expensive to replace than the bigger metal automatic choke carburetor. I don't quite get that LOL
Was that black disk the bi metal spring you were talking about on the desk?.

@More350Power Yeah, that thing always tries to close the choke instead of keeping it open when the engine is warm.

@wheely132 Did you not read the title? LOL it's a choke-o-matic carb plus the gas tank it sits on is right next to it

@1972FordF150 I read the title. It just looked like a mix between a float bowl and a choke-o-matic xD

@wheely132 Well, maybe to your eyes it did but to me it looks like a platic choke o matic LOL
