  • that was a hell of a year 2002, shame i was only 6 XD

  • When was the last time that beast saw a workshop? LOL, bloody hellfire!!! :D

  • Can these locomotives MU with each other like U.S. locomotives or is a separate driver needed?

  • @BXM4C Yeah, they can work in multiple with any other blue star marked loco.

  • Id take your gas mask next time lol

  • F'kin Quality vid mate!! Loving the commentary as well!!!

  • @DiddlyDom Cheers mate.

  • Wow that's amazing, what a 37 show! Driver certainly gave his best shot, and what a shot!! Cheers. Ken

  • @kenbrowne1947 Yeah, I asked him to give it some beans as he went....and he didn't dissapoint!

  • Suck on that you tree hugging eco namby pambys.

  • haha NICE

  • Is that all turbo lag then? great shots, and thumbs up.

  • YOU JUST CANT BEAT THE SOUND OF AN EE AT FULL CHAT AND YOUR NARRATIVE MADE MY DAY!!

  • @19orbelow Cheers mate, glad you liked the vid. Daz

  • great vid! I can't resist an expletive or two myself when watching one of these beasties pulling off

  • Thanks dude but I'm not really a trainspotter. Not in the sense that I stand by a line and take down numbers of passing locos. I'm a Basher...and 37's are my beasts. My hobby Is exstinct now as these beauties are all but gone. I don't see the point in trainspotting, but hanging out of the window of a Mk2 coach, right behind a 37 on full thrash with the wind and diesel fumes in yer mush.... Now that's heaven. Hellfire!

  • ha ha , great vid , all trainspotters should be like you ,

  • What the fuck is a plum? I've been called a lot of things in my time but never that.

  • @oldsynth its a type of fruit :)

  • Nice to see some clag, brings be back to the days of when my dad drove 56's through Carlisle! However, I do feel you were a bit close to the track.

  • @Filmitis I agree with you! What a plum! The big question is. Did he come in his pants?

  • Its not genuine clag! The engines fucked! Too much oil being burned means only one thing. The knackers yard is around the corner

  • @slendersausage I'd have thought given how black the smoke was, excess fuel rather than oil?

  • @Biigfish559 well as diesel is a light oil !!

  • FUCKING HELL!! I think I have just come in my pants!

  • @Filmitis If you don't like my vid, then don't watch it KNOB JOCKEY!

  • loving the horn

  • fantastic sound on this vid.37/7 heavyweights are the best.

  • suck on that green peace put that in your bager pipe and smoke it beardie bill oddie

  • the best ive seen!

  • FUCK ME THAT IS THE BEST FUCKING CLAG VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOOD LAD!!!!! awesome vid hehe

  • Fantastic vid and glagtastic !!

  • Clag is similar to reving the bollocks!! off in a car or van. When you rev up a 37, the monster roars into action. Great piece.

  • Clag = "Rollin Coal" to us here in the United States. I love this video and it's good to see someone else loves watching diesels do what they do best!

  • To all you envoiroment tree huggers - TAKE THAT! class 37 KING OF TRAINS!

  • awesome.what a clag monster, one of the best clips ive seen.

  • Nice one and I love the commentary

  • I bet that smelt nice, LOL, and yes it is the best clag i'v ever seem

  • you lucky bastard what a fucking clag

  • There was never developed particle filter to diesel loks, today all new loks is electrical, so no smoke there.

  • I lived in Park Hall at the time and remember seeing(hearing it first)then saw the clag driffting accross the fields towards Whittington. What days they were and now history. I also remember your Quattro! Great vid mate.

  • I don't know much about trains, sorry, but is 'clag' the train equivelent of a diesel car smoking when the driver accelerates hard? If that's true, do more modern locos have particulate filters the same as modern diesel cars do?

  • Ermmm...d'ont know matey.......maybe

  • Hi there, Yes clag is a term used by all railway people to describe smoke emmeited from the engine when the driver applyes more power, it is unusuall to have smoke like that from any loco, usualy its simple to fix, ir it could be that the turnbo has gone. Most of the modern freight locos(even though there are still a fair amount of 1960 and 70's locos still hauling heavy freight in the UK) are fitted with highly efficient engine, and dinamic braking, this uses the traction motors to brake.

  • The nearside six would be "A" bank my friend, black clag like that is usually a sign that the load regulator isnt set up quite right or turbo problems, another classic vid there Daz,a mate of mine e-mailed me this link, your getting quite a following with the nose ped brigade, lol

  • sound as a pound matey....just love those hellfire beasts!!

  • problems on the nearside six?! reminds me of when i was a kid and watching the clssic 37's and 47's pull out of bascot marshalling yard fully laden with allegros etc going to longbridge , little did i know i was watching the best days of the railways - todays stuff is all plastic boring efficient characterless crap !

  • @MrLaydownsally Yeah like its all plastic?

  • @slendersausage yeah plastic , just like your moms tits and plastic just like the dildo you stick up your dads arse , go bother someone else shit for brains

  • lol nice i thought my class 144 was clag but mine nothing compared to that, yours is epic well done for the capture.

  • thanks matey. Daz

  • Nice! These locos rule!

  • Now thats a good drop of rich black clag, nice one !!

  • Have all Class 37 been withdrawn now?? Nice clip btw.

  • Not sure...I haven't seen one for ages.

  • My workplace is right next to a railway line, we do occasionally see a '37 used on line testing work, none on freight any more though

  • Wish I'd seen that run through Shrews, although I probably heard it! That's all you used to hear late at night there at one time, 37's on the avoiding loop past the abbey, Good days :)

  • Yeah, I remember many times, walking in a drunken state accross the dana to go to the buttermarket at midnught and hearing a 37 pulling through!! mega stuff man.

  • Jesus - what was it running on, Sunbrite Singles?

  • Nice

  • HELLFIRE!!! Watch it go!

  • Hellfire indeed....beast!!

  • GIVE IT SOME BEANS!!!

  • Loves the thundering sound as it goes past.

  • can't beat it matey.

  • Wow that was some heavy duty CLAG there!

  • if u love class 37's check out B.R.D.W

  • 200/5 alco comes to mind!!!!

  • Good Video, shame you were the wrong side of the fence. Not really a good idea to put your face in the video if you are going to do that.

  • Doesnt look to healthy! But thats the type of clag we want!

  • That Class 37 is not Healthy

  • Shame shes burnt to a cinder now though :( Only one of WCRC's fleet I havent been behind yet

  • Burnt to a cinder? Only saw it a short while back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A short while back it torched itself whilst on an ECS move!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol cool one

  • hahaha "thats the best clag i've ever seen COUGH COUGH COUGH" love it. 37712 was a very claggy machine towards the end of 2002, seem to remember she had turbo problems or a cracked exhaust or both.

  • Glad to know that 37712 is still around, but it's great to see her here in original EWS format. 5*

  • dont make em like they used to!
