This was my life in the sixties and I still enjoy it with pleasure and a little sadness because these wonderful time is gone, now I am playing this tunes on my Tyros 4 Keyboard
Ah! That's a very good information. So it's OK for the Top 20 Show tribute. Guess what, I taped some shows too, but with a microphone from the radio speaker. ;-)
I just absolutely LOVE this! It's so punchy and catchy and FAST!! I would love to see someone mix this into a Trance song....I found this song (45) on top of a box full of 45's out in the garbage? How can people be so stupid!!
I have this on the original 45 rpm. It's the same tune but did not sound like this when it came out. I wonder what happened with the chiming bells in the background? They are missing in this version. I'm wondering if the band did a later version of this instrumental and this is it. It differs a bit from the original.
@eldorado62 TRUE...I've got the version you meant too, (with the tubular bells) it sounds much fuller. Some tracks were rerecorded; and it seems there's been a hurricane through this great band's back catalogue.
On later cd rereleases, tracks were wrongly named , and what's worse ,some were pressed at the wrong speed(slower).
Oh yeah - John Benson on BFBS in Germany! What would my saturdays in the late 1960s have been without him ? He played all the good stuff that regular German radio did not even know about.
thanks for putting this on Youtube

PS Does anyone know whether John Benson is still around ?
@kronkitelin I,m so glad I´ve found this video in you tube. Thanks a lot. Iheard this song with 8 years with my sister. She was ten years old .Every sataurday we are listening to the radio station BFBS and it was a big pleasure for us to enyoy this wonderful music .,very good time.It was a very
You are right about this not being the original sound of the 45. Flip of BEATNIK FLY.
For some reason when this record came out, I flipped it over and played SANDSTORM. Still like it to this day. Don't ask me why but one night I played it at 33 rpm. Still sounded good. Weird I know. Good Post.

I bought it from iTunes, so it may be remasterd. But I'm quite sure it's not a different version from the one that the Top Twenty Show used back in the 60s. I remember one or two occasions when the tune was almost entirely played at the end of the show. Usually there wasn't enough time for it.
In the 1960s I lived in Germany (northern part of Northrhine-Westfalia) and I still live in the same place. Ihe TOP TWENTY show was broadcasted on Saturdays late in the evening. I think there was a repetition on Sundays.
die richtige Version steht auch hier, bei scratcholdie !!

Definitley an alternate track and a different mix than the 45 released in the U.S.. Only Harry Balk would know why. Jerry Pynckel ex Hurricane.

Great song!
In the 60s I used to sit next to the radio and waited for the Top Twenty songs to record them on tape.
Thanks for the great memories this one brings to me!
