  • Its amazing how long we the people. Stoners, Rockers, Headbangers, Heshians, Misfits and such. Have been talking about the corruption of humanity and our governments for so long. Just when our voices were starting to be heard fucking rap came along and drowned us out. When we were being heard the news said we were the ones responsible for suicides and lawless behavior. Well fuck em we are still strong and alive.

  • The name of the Twilight Zone episode from which the intro is taken is "Deaths-Head Revisited". Extremely good episode, made all the better when you hear the lines used in this song.

  • i bet most people dont know what the talking in the begining of this song is from.....

i just saw an episode of Twilight Zone about a nazi captain who is haunted by concentration camp victims and goes mad at the end of the episode. the laughing is the captain and part that says" we did as we were told" is the victim......good song, it makes sense

  • @geezereadgbe Almost the entire songs lyrics come from that episode of "The Twilight Zone". Good show; Great song!!

  • @geezereadgbe You have a link?

  • first time i saw them on tour with this album, with Maiden at Wembley..amazing! brilliant stuff, great album..BUT..nowadays im afraid i think Joeys voice is shot..have you seen the big4 dvd and you reckon he sings ok? what about Only? awful! anyway..great band

  • this would be a pretty good song to die to

  • these guys play with positive energy and love for life. soak it up peoples

  • i was reminicing about a girl friend yo. the next best concert was megadeth here in anchorage alaska 1998. i woke up outside with no shoes no shirt and a black eye. and i was sober as a judge

  • i was reminicing about a girl friend yo. the next best concert was megadeth here in anchorage alaska 1998. i woke up outside with no shoes no shirt and a black eye. and i was sober as a judge

  • i witnessed anthrax open with persistence of time for iron maiden on their no prayer for the dying tour in the houston, texas colouseum 1989. i was a sophomore at northshore highschool off uvalde road in houston. what a fuking awesome generation of thrash and soul. that was near the the year red hot chili peppers released blood sugar sex magic. im now trapped in alaska. fuk me i miss samantha kennedy

  • I want that watch!

  • increible!!!!!!! solo 35405 visitas, las nuevas generaciones deberian escuchar algo mas que Metallica....

  • A freind of mine and I used to play this song for all the parts we knew. This song still kicks ass. It's timeless, but there's still people who don't like Anthrax

  • @Shannon4797 They did make C.D.'s back then dude, I remember because I bought this when it came out on C.D., why in the world would you risk losing a great album by playing out a tape? Then again, C.D. walkmans were expensive then so in order to carry around music it needed to be on tape. Ok, nuff said. sorry dude. I think the last tape I bought was So far...so good...so what?

  • Something went wrong at 3:23....

  • i now realize that the 90s fucking rocked.almost everything pretty much sucks these days....

  • @grasscat1977 70s and 80s too except mainstream pop but even that was better than mainstream pop nowadays for the most part

  • looks like im not the only one who played this tape out! was my very first album i bought and 17 years later it still sounds classic!

  • Great song/video

  • I'M REDISCOVERING ANTHRAX AGAIN. I BOUGHT THIS ON TAPE 1st TIME AROUND. I TOTALLY FORGOT HOW FUCKIN GOOD THIS ALBUM IS!! GOOD TO SEE THE ORIGINAL LINE-UP BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.

  • @SandMaster73 hell yeah.. me too! Among the Living and Persistence of Time are my personal favorites. It's funny how I got into Anthrax, by seeing them on Married with Children when I was in the 4th grade 2 decades ago.

  • a little something for @Devilsreject 111

  • 0 dislikes...the way it should be.

  • Well....it wasn't about fancy cars and gold chains....good old times!!

  • These two songs combined form my favorite Anthrax song!

  • anthrax is fucking amazing long live the oldschool metal!

  • I BET IT's ALL FUN

  • I was in seventh grade. I was really into nkotb and bbd

  • Some of the heaviest thrash metal riffs of all times in this

  • i guess no one needs to die for these awesome songs.....

  • rocknroll forever

  • classic anthrax! how the hell could you NOT love it?

  • yae

  • I feel so young reading comments from everyone saying they listened to this in high school, lol. Still though, you don't have to be old to appriciate awesome music. I wish these 2 tracks were one though. I hate when on my iPod its on shuffle and it plays Belly Of The Beast without the intro! >_<

  • @WhoblehwahV2 That is the single greatest failing of this/these songs, that they aren't presented as one. I feel your pain though, I could've bounced my iPod off the wall when it happened... Was really getting into it too! lol

  • @WhoblehwahV2 yeah it does that ( I FUCKIN HATE IT!!!!!) but they put it as two tracks so it seperates them... grrrrrr lol

  • 1990 was a great year for heavy music man !My timeframe matches up with yours almost exactly ! I was a Junior in high school and just enamored with all the new music that these great bands were putting out !

  • One of their best albums.

  • this song makes me scitzophrenic

  • ANTHRAX!!!

  • NOT MAN 2012!

  • I had that Album copied from a copied tape copy back then...I was 12 then, by the way...

  • I was 24 in 1990 and I played the shit out of this.I was the black sheep of my family as I would guess all of us are. Many beers and many joints have fallen to this music.Life is good.

  • ooohhhh...the memories,the memories..........

  • For a kid who grew up during the cold war with family on both sides, no other song got it more right.

  • 95 likes 0 dislikes

  • man the intro to this song gives me goose bumps... aaah the memories of being young, dumb and crazy LOL

  • by far the best anthrax album.......and one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • what's with the hiccup at 3:24? nonetheless 3:31 - 3:41 the guitars sound absolutely tremendous. it's not hard to play at all, but it still sounds freakin great and what monster tone.

  • @anewdayproductions That's where "Intro to Reality" technically ends and "Belly of the Beast" begins.

  • Scott Ian hated this album. Brought in that Bush guy to replace Belladonna. Damn perfectionist! I think Persistence of Time is Anthrax's best.

  • Intro to reality is awesome!

  • Absolutely. Takes you back in time, right?

    :)

  • Anthrax and Rammstein are both punk rock bands. But the principle of law is not based on Anarchy but moral society and its clash with individualistic ideals. The protection of personal ideology and the sub-culture which supports its freedom is a common theme. Just as much as protection of other personal ideals are necessary even for the aristocracy.

  • @Globalmarketingpros Anthrax is thrash metal...Rammstein is just heavy metal with an industrial bent...

  • Well, I still try to analyze this damn song...since it was released. And god help me - I never heard such a consequent library of killer riffs ever bevore, then, and later. What the heck ? They chaeting me ! It is nothing more than....everlasting BRAINFUCK !

All 5 Stars and 100 more...

You made my day - USA !

  • Absolutely AMAZING.

  • Saw them on this Tour with Judas Priest's Painkiller Tour in Pittsburgh, PA

    Very good year.

  • how come i dont hear any Judas priest tours anymore i feel like left out from them ¬¬

  • This was probably the first CDs I ever bought in the early 90s. It was either this or Attack Of The Killer Bs. I remember being in high school listening to this stuff almost 20 years ago. Nice to see alot of people still dig this group. For sure the first concert I ever saw when I was 5 years old was Anthrax in 93 with White Zombie and Quicksand.

  • @fatcatbuzz 5 years old??? You likely have crapped your nappies :P

  • @gekkomatic Oops, I meant 15. hahaha

  • Apparently, the big 4: Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeath, and Metallica will be playing together in Europe in the summer.

  • there defo playing in poland sonspihere but thats it for now

  • I was in Junior High when this album came pot back in 1990, They were part of a tour for this album called Clash of the Titans (my 1st concert) It was Alice in chains 1st, then Megadeath, then Slayer, The Anthrax came out and killed it to close the show. I have been hooked on these guys ever since, To bad theres no more Joey. (just not the same)

  • I was in the 6th grade when it came out.

My older brother went to that Clash of the Titans show and I was jealous.

I wasn't (yet) listening to Slayer but I wanted to see the other bands.

They must have rotated the bands around from night to night, because when my brother saw it, of course AiC opened, but then the order was Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer.

    Anyway it's all kickass.

  • im 42,still lookin like im scott ian.but i think my good times are´gone.but i bought a 99 bucks amp.old times that mtv-kids dont know not´bout.fists high...

still too old to rock, still too old to die.hope that helps.stay fuckin´alive...please

  • Fantastic classic album.

  • This song will stand time

  • Fuckin Thrash Rock fucking fuckin rocks. I broke this tape from overplay. Have it on record too.

  • i love that riff at 2:28

  • Hope this makes me feel better.

  • Awesome, they put in that audio clip from The Twilight Zone, it matches the cover art for Persistence of Time.

  • This album came out at the start of my sophomore year in high school. The fall of 1990 had this and Iron Maidens "No Prayer for the Dying", Judas Priests "Pain Killer" and Megadeths "Rust in Peace". All these albums came out within two weeks of each other and we fuckin' rocked out hard!!!! Pretty heavy social commentary for a 16 year old! It was great.

  • Fuck yeah, I was 17 and that was a pretty heavy week of shoplifting for me too, Nepharous.

  • @TheNepharous Fuck Yeah! Rust In Piece is amaaaaazing!

  • @TheNepharous Don't forget - Slayer's 'Seasons in the Abyss' was also released at that particular moment. Great year for metal albums.

  • @TheNepharous Mirror image to my upbringing (same age), well put.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheNepharous Don't forget panteras "Cowboys From Hell".

  • @TheNepharous Around the same time for me. Did you catch the clash of the titans tour w/ Anthrax, MegaDeth, and Slayer? Alice in Chains opened only to be laughed off the stage. Man, what a crazy night. We didn't have floor seats. Second row from floor. We still slammed, piled on, and moshed w/ fellow headbangers in rows around us.

  • @TheNepharous FUCK YEAH WE DID!!!!!

  • @TheNepharous

Social Darwinism is great, but it can eat you alive.

  • @TheNepharous no Metallica's "Black Album"?

  • @ZimrayaTV that was 1991 and not as good as the other albums in the list (except maybe no prayer...) and not as good as Slayer's "Seasons in the Abyss"

  • @91nickt oh cmon! The black album is a classic! it's great

  • @TheNepharous I was a sophomore in college and was just as good for me, too!!!

  • @TheNepharous

Too bad about No Prayer though.

  • @TheNepharous don't forget Slayer's "Seasons in the Abyss" \_/ (^o^) \_/

  • @TheNepharous That's true, it was quite a powerful bunch to have over just one year or maybe two. It seemed as though the good albums wouldn't cease being released at all. Back then I hadn't enough money to purchase them all, but by borrowing or encouranging my friends to acquire some I could listen to lots from bands such as Anthrax, Megadeth, Sepultura, Slayer, Obituary, Napalm Death, Kreator, and Iron Maiden to name a few. Then it came the all boring grunge and the magic was gone.

  • @TheNepharous wow you must be my age..yea i was in the same grade,,you forgot slayer seasons in the abyss,,and testament souls of black also came out during this time!! it was an awesome year for metal

  • @psychoboxingfan Heh. I'm 16 NOW, and some of those are among my favorites, especially Seasons. ROCK ON!

  • @willalwaysloveOHIO ha ha! its good to see you young bucks listening to the bands that started it all for these so called hardcore metal bands today..

  • @psychoboxingfan

    guys don't forget Death Angel...\m/...

  • "Your mind, your voice. These are your instruments of death!" Belladonna rules!

  • Primus .

    what a trip .

    omg

    young black teenagers opened lmao

    I hate kelly bundy !

am I the only one who remembers that song ?

  • Fuck yeah, chickennone, I saw the same tour. I was a metal head going in, and came out with some respect for rap, at least how it was done back in the day with acts like PE - those fuckers were metal, they just didn't play it.

  • Nice Upload, thanx man. Anthrax is one of my all time fav. bands. FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • Thank you isaac 8399 -great song i was seaching so long for this song

  • Only Thrash song i like the guitar melodys are sweet, reminds me of Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden playing.

  • These guys fuckin Rock live in Concert. Mosh pits rule. lmao! Anthrax rocks!

  • Anthrax best album in my view. There isn't a better example of this genre of music.

  • Marionettes dancing in time

    To the apologetic lines

For all the monsters of our time

  • Man you to. I used to rock out to this shit all the time. On the bright side at least we are the X generation. But yes to live just one week in my past once more.

  • Man i listened to this intro over and over and over when i was a young teenager.FUCKIN BADASS!!!

  • The intro is from the following twilight episode: #74 "Deaths-Head Revisited" Don Medford Rod Serling November 10, 1961, production code# 4804.

I was watching the marathon one night and was like, whoa, thats anthrax!

  • There was a street named Anthrax, after the band. Until some fuckup mailed anthrax to people. Then they changed the name. I think every major city should have an Anthrax street.

  • Awesome, never gets old. kicks

  • best intro to any album ever! period

  • this is actually like the 4th and 5th songs on the album

  • best intro ON is what i meant, not necessarily a literal intro mr perfect

  • oh haha jk

  • With that said, it should have been an intro as it would have been a perfect way to establish the album.

Also, on the vinyl single (or SP) for Got the Time, there was a track called Who Put This Together? (credited to "mixmaster stickmaster Benante" - modest Charlie) which should have been used as the final track since it has a place on the album conceptually (with various sound bytes involving the word time being said). It would have foreshadowed the conceptual vibe on the next LP.

  • no its the 6th and 7th

  • Wow - take me back to 9th Grade.....JEEEEZ! Im fuckiin' old man!

  • Words are weak!

  • These guys belong to the pantheon of metal, and this record specifically is a masterpiece. (A Thrashterpiece? LOL)

  • i want that clock at 2:13!!

mmmm theres no such thing as skater metal fatboySRK, they are thrash metal

  • Wow! flash back to the summer of to 8th and 9th grade 92/93'. F7CK I am getting old! LOL!

    Scott Ian Rocks!

Best skater metal band of their time!

  • Of ALL time!!

  • sk8ers listen to all kinds of shit, this is METAL! and Anthrax are still kicking ass and taking names, unlike another so called "metal" band (that acutally uses the word METAL in its title)

  • insanity..the normal state!! fuck yeah!!!

  • I agree 100%

  • Best transition between any 2 songs EVER!

  • Judge Dredd the man, he is the law!

  • great music

  • Slayer, Anthrax, and Sepultura: True thrash.

  • The best music band in thrash metal forever. Especially this album which i loved that much that during all my high school in 90's i identifyed myself with Persistence of time. Thank you guys for creating such a perfect music. I wish you good luck and long lives and play this music till the end of time.

  • Man I love this album and what a great intro

  • damn i want the Persistence of time watch

  • Thank you for putting this up. My tape is totally warped from listening to this over, and over, and over....

  • dude get the CD!!

  • Anyone know what the lyrics at the beginning of 'Intro to Reality' come from?

  • It's from an episode of 'The Twilight Zone' about the Nazis. I don't remember what it's called.

  • I love em both

  • Esto es anthrax hail.

  • i grew up with a recorded cassette copy....it wasnt until i bought the c.d. last year i realized they were seperate songs.....

  • This should have been the first track on the album.

  • geant!!! ca c de l'intro!

  • pure awsome

  • Intro to reality is one of my all-time favorite instrumentals.

  • jeah dude mine to ...and in second place fractured mirror from ace fraily(spelling)

  • It's awesome although my favourite Anthrax instrumental is 13.
