its not healthy for them beautiful fish to eat goldfish !!! use home reared saltwater feeders !!!! fresh water diseases are bad news for saltwater fish !!! beautiful fish though !!
He was a flagtail grouper. it's normal for their coloring to change from red to white markings when they are angry or feel aggressive. very cool fish.
Nice Radiata. I ordered one but it refused to eat then died a few days after arriving at the pet shop before I even picked it up. Where did you buy yours? Did you have any trouble feeding it?
i think that previous comment was right about the size of the feeder its huge compared to the size of the fish/eel in your tank try silversides they work great
your fish are way too small for those feeders try giving them the smaller ones they will eat them in one bite not take them piece by piece like they are doing right now, and also they won't dirty up the tank with blood or anything like that. They are 9 cents each thats what i feed my fish.
Hole in the head much? that grouper has it bad. do you ever do water changes? I can tell your levels are probably horrible because that feeder fish is way to big for those guys.
how can u put a fish thats fresh water (goldfish) in a tank thATS SALTWATER! U FUCKING PRICK AND U SHOULDNT BE FEEDING THEM FISH GOLD FISH BITCH ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i feed my eels goldfish on ocasions and they are just fine no problems but thats not all i feed them frosen brine shrimp and silversides also make up their diet nice fish

you sick pathetic twat why feed them live goldfish you give fishkeeping a bad name its not good for them and riadata lion fish are vey finicky feeders so wont take very large gold fish anyway bet your water conditions are prefect yeah right
They weren't fed exclusively on goldfish. They were fed mainly homemade food which was a mix of raw shellfish and non-oily fish. The homemade food was supplemented with krill and mysis. It appears horrible because it's not exciting to video them eating their regular food. It's good exercise for them to chase goldfish and these fish are predators! They were very well taken care of and we now have a spectacular community reef tank instead.
that is the coolest triggerfish there is, and also hella cheap if you get a baby.
im gunna have a 50 gal freshwater soon and when i start saltwater im gunna get a bursa triggerfish baby, humu picasso triggerfish baby, and a porcupine puffer baby, and maybe a few other less exiting fish like some cleaners for my tank.
the reason i want to is because all of those fish have the same preferences when it comes to temperature, salt, etc.
i almost have the same fish as you...a common lionfish, a picasso, and a snowflake eel...but i might be getting a foxface lo...what is your red fish he's cool
it won't be my first tank i all ready got one but im just a kid i only got 13 so that is why and I already now some fish i can have with the eel like a surgeon or a hawk and a squirrel fish []--------- but how ever thanks
hey i need help that may be you can give me i hope you do im planing on salwater tank but i don't now if an eel or a reef tank with some clown fish flame angel mandarinfish damsels you now a REEF
You mention 1 eel, and then several other reef fishes. I suggest poking around on a website like reefcentral or saltwaterfish . com and see what type of tank you'd like to start with.
I'm amazed ur picasso trigger doesn't beat your lionfish to death! Triggers love to eat the spines of urchins and lionfish. How long have you had them together? I have a clown trigger and semicircle angel in a 15gal quarantine tank, and they don't get along at all. It's usually the angel that wants to pick a fight, but the trigger just bites his fins. Hehe. As soon as I get my 100gal tank, I'm sure territorial behavior won't be a problem then.
And 100gal isnt big you will still get territorial issues when that are full sized. I wouldnt even want to keep 2 fish that both grow atleast a foot in a 100g.
They were together for well over a year. The picasso never bothered the lion. The picasso didn't like it much when the flagtail grouper swooped in and swallowed food whole - goldfish included - and didn't leave much for the picasso.
dude have u seen my video i have killing clownfish carnivouris tang cannibal cardinal assasin triggerfish and a mentally retarded damsel for real and a mini eel type in humu humu feast
Of course, it's nature, but the fact that you said you "do it for show" is disturbing. I'm not just talking about the Goldfish. He is taking small bites because he doesn't like it, and he doesn't like it because it is not in his diet. I'm amazed you still have him. It's a good sign you don't feed him goldfish on a regular basis, but more frightening that this means you do it strictly for entertainment. Wow. What a sick mind.
Apart from the cruelty to the goldfish, I thought live goldfish were much more expensive and of much less nutritional value for marine fish than a lot of frozen foods.
Very true. Goldfish aren't the main food in their diet. They mostly ate frozen or fresh meaty chopped seafoods. The radiata was a little finicky so we fed goldfish to make sure he was getting his fill along with frozen foods.
Great fishtank but I still question why you feed live goldfish. Apart from the cruelty aspect they're just not a good food for marines. Better off with a range of frozen/fresh seafood and veg. It's just a waste of time... unless you do it for fun which is a bit worrying.

marine fish range anywhere from $15 to $1000. These species usually go anywhere from $40-250. A 100gal tank (minimum needed for these fish) will run you anywhere from $400 used glass to $2,000 new acrylic. Complete gear, another $250-700ish used/new.
i'm setting up a 90 reef and planning to have a picasso (humu humu) as the main fish but i'm reasearching heavily, hearing it never works, and then finding out many people can sometimes do it successfully. not sure yet
The picasso had been in the tank for 3 yrs before the radiata was added as a juvenile. Picasso tested him a little the first 2 days but then they left each other alone. A clown trigger that was the same size as the picasso was added in at the same time as the radiata so he was the main focus of the picasso. They were together for 2 years. Unfortunately, the lionfish is no longer with us, he succumbed to a parasite infection we got from a new fish. The picasso is 4 years old and still in great health!
