What a great video, they were the live gig that left you exhausted. Never seen their intensity matched by anyone. Thanks for all the great memories.... More, OOOOOIIIIILS, OOOOOIIIIIILS, OOOOOIIIILS!!!!
@CHOUCHE4 He's hitchhiking up to Queensland, and it's always been a very conservative state, where the pubs closed earlier than in New South Wales, (where he's coming from) Most of them still do.
There is something about the sound of that guitar solo by Jim Moginie from about 2:15 to 2:40 always takes me back to 1979 and 1980. I love this song.
where's brisbane, yeh, my first oils album, back 78 or so, so sentimentally my fav,the band i roadied for, ward 10, supported oils twice, head injuries tour in newcastle, fond memories,oh give me my youth back
I went to see the Oils at Newcastle Workers club in 2004,little did I know they would break up 2 shows later so Peter could join the
Labour party.I tried to get mates of mine to come to this show but they were like"I'll see them next time they come to town",they were a bit upset when they found out the Oils split up,oh well I did invite them!
I could not believe it but they played this, this is one of my favourite Oils songs.
I think Bones was probably a better bass player, but Giffo was pure rock - legs apart, rocking the whole body back and forth, and pure intensity on his face. He was awesome. Love this track, it was the soundtrack to so many roadtrips up north.
AWESOME CHEERS FOR UPLOADING !!!!

Giffo opened a bikini shop in Byron bay. As far as I am aware he is still in that part of the world.

THANK YOU!
WHY LEAVE OILS?
dingopinguino 3 years ago
In 1987/88 they were wanting to heavily tour the US to support the "Diesel and Dust"album and Giffo was burnt out after previous tours.
