  • Articulated= Hughes sikorsky,simi articulated=Brantly,Simi rigid=Bell Hiller,Rigid= Lockheed,MBB Jonny go back to school

  • Once again, I'll set the record straight......for the misinformed... Norgesmann!

The BO 105 has a "SEMI-RIGID" Rotor system! The Blades Feather, which is why there are "pitch links" attached to them!

It has a Rigid "Rotor Head".........Not to be confused with a "RIGID ROTOR SYSTEM"!

  • @johnnybegoode34

you have no idea what you are talking about. ofc all rotors feather, but this has nothing to do with being semi rigid og rigid.

Fully articulated = feathering, flap and lead-lag.

Semi rigid = feathering and flap only

    Rigid = feathering only.

I know this cause I am a pilot my self and my company has a BO-105. I don't have a type rating on it myself, but I know enough about it to know you are wrong.

Anyway. a short wikipedia search would have told you all this.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Don't *ever* leave an open bag of chips on the back seat.

  • I got woozy just watching. It was AWESOME!!! Had a pilot get jiggy with it in a CH-53 once but obviously nothing like this guy. That kinda ride I would pay for definitely.

  • Wowh! These acrobatics are cool. I always know planes could do it, but helicopters also?

  • It's actually a Semi-Rigid Rotor System!

  • @johnnybegoode34 You are wrong. That is the BO-105, and it has a rigid system. Semi-rigid are usually the two-bladed ones, like on the 206 and R22.

  • ...uuuuuh so many experts here.... This video is just SICK!!! no matter what...

  • in GTA if ur helicopter goes upside down ur fucked. this guys a pretty pretty cool.

  • I don't think any maneuvers in this video put any significant g force load on the heli. But... It's RIGID rotor helicopter. In most helicopters you can't do it, because the blades are hinged and the rotor plane moves much faster then helicopter body. Most designs use hinged blades. This allows for better stability and ease of control. But prevents you from doing any stunts like we see here. This is a special case. I wander why they needed to do it?

  • Xtremedude100: You can easily let the helicopter drop through the air like you would do it in an autorotation, and then recover almost instantly be increasing pitch angle. The rotor system and the rest of the helicopter is built for such kind of operations.

  • Is this Carl Zimmermann??

  • Outstanding. Is it possible to allow a helicopter to drop through the air then recover or is it too much strain?

  • This is the German Pilot Rainer Wilke

  • omg, i feel dizzy just by watching it!! heli can do that?!??!??! :O

  • better tan sex!

  • IDEM

  • Its strange how this heli design dont make you thik that its capable of this kind a things!!!It looks a bit retro but no obviously!? Its awesome!!!And if something goes wrong...?no ejection seats! You are toasted!!!I guess only balls of steel are doing the busines!!!

  • accutally there are some types of helicopter that have ejection seats. When they pull ejection handle explosive charges in the rotor explode and the pilots are ejected.

  • (it's russian) Kamov 50 ka-50

  • just another thing for enemies to disable a helicopter..but it would have to be a pretty lucky shot i suppose

  • A Ka-50 has a coaxial main rotor system (2 rotors rotating in opposite directions). This looks more like a BO-105 (Bolkow)

  • Actually it's a Bolkow Kamov has conta rotating blades

  • What is the pitch angle when it loops? and damn thoose must be some expensive parts on that helicopter!

  • mate, they're AERObatics, seeing as he's flying.

    ACRObatics are gymnastics.

  • Totaly agree it just shows peoples lack of knowledge when they called Aerobatics ACROBATICS!!! Might as well call Roller Blades Ice skates!!!

  • calm down dude.... no use in calling people out on not knowing something that isn't really common knowledge.

know if you went to a aeroplane/heli show and people were making this mistake then i'd understand.

  • awesom.respect respect and respect to the pilot

  • magnifique....

  • amazing video! I didn't know it was possible to do that with a chopper!

  • It was 1975 here in the Philippines when I first saw a BO-105 performing simplier acrobatic maneuvers then a loop. I didnt know then that a lot of other manuevers can be performed on such a machine at rapid intervals such as those shown in this video. Whew!

  • uff! this is awesome! respect to the pilot!

  • LOKKO D +++++++ !!!!!!!!!

  • wow this guy has got BALLS.

  • I don't even know that the Bo is so maneuverable because the Chopper is pretty big. It must be very strong and powerfull to do that. RESPECT!!!

  • Long live the MBB Bo-105! The Bolkow is one of the sturdiest and most maneuverable aircraft ever designed

and is still being widely used all over the world. I used to fly one for a living and I still miss it!

  • I did not no helicopters could do this stuff! 5 stars!
