I just talked to a fellow Navy fan, and what he told me leads me to believe even more that Paul Johnson will remain at Navy forever. This fan said that, no matter how much money other schools offer him(even more than 3 million a year), Navy will offer him at least a matching amount. They love him that much! And, in addition, with Paul Johnson's no-nonsense style of coaching, he would much rather coach Navy players than thugs who like to showboat, taunt, do drugs, and commit crimes. Who agrees?
Guess not. I'm a ND fan, but I root for Navy and still want to go there. Gotta have a lot of respect for these kids. I wish Johson would have stayed, but money talks. But it will be easier to win at GT. He is an amazing coach, year after year winning 8+ games with Navy and going to a lot of bowls.
Paul Johnson laid the groundwork for Navy having a solid football program, and this new coach is going to keep it going, I know. Navy will continue to take football very seriously and win games and go to bowl games.
If you go to Navy, I'm sure you will experience some great football. I think that Paul Johnson will make Georgia Tech a national power. It is in a football-rich region, and he will get many great players to go there. Georgia Tech may not get the players schools like Notre, Florida, Texas, and USC get, but they still will get a lot of good talent.
In addition, Paul Johnson is one of the best coaches ever, and a genius when it comes to doing more with less. Frank Beamer of Virginia Tech is very similar, because he has made the most out of many players who were not highly recruited out of high school. Virginia Tech has had many great teams, been to many great bowl games, and went to the title game in the 1999 season. And, I think that Beamer will get his title someday.
If Beamer can do that at Virginia Tech, there is no doubt in my mind that Johnson can do that at Georgia Tech. One of the reasons he went to Tech was to try to win a national title. I think he can in time. Paul Johnson won multiple I-AA titles at Georgia Southern, and what he did at Navy was equivalent to winning at least one national title at a bigger-time football school.
Go Navy. I'm glad the Middies beat ND. About time, all those years the refs cheated Navy of wins over ND. Almost happened again this week. I was in the Army, but always pull for the Academies. GO ARMY!!! See you at the end of season.
Congrats, Middies! You ended the drought against Notre Dame! What a big win! That final defensive stop will be talked about for years! Paul Johnson is one of the best coaches ever, I have to say! Amen?
Guess what, everyone! It was announced that Navy and Maryland will play again in 2010 to kick off the season at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. From that point on, although nothing has been planned, they should play every year in Baltimore or Landover! Amen?
Is anyone going to the Delaware game on 10/27/07? I have tickets on the lawn. IMHO, Delaware at Navy is the most fun Navy game to go to behind Army-Navy. Delaware brings like half their state, so many Delaware alums live in the Annapolis area, and the games are OFTEN really good! Who agrees?
id like to say you guys have an awsome quarterback but No way can i spell his name, Navys triple option is awsome, anyone want to take a crack on the spelling of the quarterbacks name?
I'll tell you all something. That Navy-Maryland game in Baltimore in 2005 was awesome! Navy had them on the ropes! They should have that game every season in either Baltimore or Landover to kick off the season for both teams. For those people who think it will take away from the Army-Navy hype-don't worry. If they have it at the beginning of the season, it won't. Who agrees with me on all of this?
Nice job, im a ND fan but i truly respect Navy and their following and they have one hell of a football team. congrats on your sucess under Johnson, see you guys in october.
I say that 2007 is the year that Navy finally beats Notre Dame. Notre Dame will be young, and Navy has some talent back. In addition, they have Paul Johnson, who is as good as they come! Amen?
Navy has beefed up their schedule a bit for 2007. They host Wake Forest and go to Pittsburgh. That is good! That will help prepare them better for their bowl game.
