i think this is social statement. society dictates woman to be nothing more but a housewife, man to be alcoholic & lazy, the grandpa who couldn't accept its inevitable death, w/c we are also afraid of, & the piglet whose only reality defines him for who he is - a pig that will grow up to be like his lazy dad and will someday learn of his own purpose which is to be eaten.
prolly also a differentiation between animal and man. man is capable of rationality while animals are just plainly animals.

This was the most disgusting short film I've ever seen. Some little girl voicing over the hell-hole of a pig's life, drawn out in some lunatical fashion. What's even more disturbing, there are people who call this 'cute'. Indeed, without limits, morals, or rationale anything can become cute.

I think the "CreationistChristian" is kind of overeated and seemed didn't quite understand what message the video wants to deliver. However, I can somewhat understand why he has a such response without the full understanding of this video, but I just want to say that Bible is not a lie=] Every person is different and is not perfect. @tinawz The New Testament is a volume of tales written by many people all of whom were born after the death of Jesus Christ compiled selectively by the Nicaean council almost 3 centuries after the death of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament similarly attempts to describe history centuries after it happened. Both contradict each other and tell similar tales repeatedly. If God wrote it, then you accuse him/her of very poor writing skills. And does God love us with earthquakes and tornadoes?

It's mostly ironic rather than funny. I don't think that the piglet is clueless :) It's a big bad world through the eyes of an innocent piglet. But it's a Russian big bad world - full of hopelessness, inevitability and cynicism... and it's a Russian piglet that is looking at it. Peculiarities of our mentality :) But obviously it strikes a chord with everyone, otherwise you wouldn't have liked it and it wouldn't have got a prize at international film festival :)

Russian/Soviet animation has always had that realistic touch in it... that sometimes made it a bit.. too sad. This is a great cartoon.
