What a show....what an actress! Talent and then some! This is what Broadway is lacking in volumes...and yet we pay for good money for the trash that's now on Broadway and passes for a musical or a performance. We have not had talent or creativity on Broadway, save a few of the truly trained and experienced actor/actress in the revival. But nothing that can compare to a production such as Sunset Boulevard...score...story...pe­rformers...excellence. Nope, don't have it.

@swarze I think Debra had the (awful) advantage to channel her own past experiences like Gloria Swanson did in the film version, which is why she's so amazing in the role, but Glenn Close is superb as well.

I always knew there was no end to her ability in acting. She is something of an enigma in acting and upstages anyone else in the female category in Hollywood. What the heck - how man has Meryl Streep won? She's fabulous as well ... but Glenn is THE mos versatile of the two of them ...

Who else could have played Karen Blixen, a Danish aristocrat, and Karen Silkwood, an American factory girl, with such uncanny accuracy? Glenn Close has a much more limited range, but within that range she is very good.

@McGravity1 Never mistake range or versatility with being a great actor. There are many performers who, on the surface, can play hundreds of different types of characters and get down the accents and mannerism - but very seldom does it go any deeper than that. Great acting is about capturing the soul of whoever your playing - Not how many accents one can do. Glenn is fantastic actress, Meryl is very versatile but can be souless. For truly great acting see Vanessa Redgrave, Julie Harris..

@McGravity1 Meryl Streep is so freaking OVERated! Yes, shes in many movies, and thats fine, but shes very BASIC in many of those roles. The best actresses now are Portman, Glenn, Blanchet, Vera Farmiga, and even Whitherspoon(who can really do a role that NO-ONE wanted-to-take-bc-it-was-REALL­Y-dificult-"Legally Blond," then Walk The Line, then what SHOULD have been Award-winning Vanity Fair? Not many).
