I wish we Poles had four great skiers, not only that horse Kowalczyk but I just love when she wins and kicks ass of Norway and other countries. Our other girls in ski team are C class or less. It's almost like Kowalczyk was from other country or planet. Norwegian girls seems much nicer to me, even Marit (but I[m sure she takes something for this muscle)
Give Marit a break. She has said in several interviews that muscular bodies "run in her family", and that she gains muscular mass faster than the average woman, due to genetics. Just imagine the physique you're required to have, to sustain this type of sport. The dress might not be the MOST flattering option, but she's awesome, and deserves nothing but positive comments.

Sports officials are notorious for corruption. Everybody knows about FIFA,its officials get paid for their votes. FIS is a little less known, so the scandals are not brought to the public attention. That's why you have to rely on statements of the insiders. Like Wierietielny, Kowalczyk, Majdic.
Kowalczyk revealed that many of the skiers (from Russia, Estonia,...) supported her for speaking loud about the Norwegian (and Scandinavian) cheating.

For safety reason I also checked the Ethical Issues Expert Group, I found one singel norwagian represented.
So in all these thre groups there were LOTS of americans, canadians, spanish, netherlands, Uk etc. But only two norwegians. (zero danish and only one swede) Mostly scandinavian based? :-)

The only reason that the asthma medication is on the doping list is because it is new and they do not have a good test method for it. Other asthma medications have been taken off the list when they found a method to test for them.
WADA bans those medications, because they do work on the healthy. If they didn't work, there would be no reason to ban them nor even test for them. I don't know if you are more of a liar or a moron...
Kowalczyk tested once those drugs herself and she said they give huge advantage. She mentioned that in an interview. There would be no problem if they were allowed for everybody (if they didn't help the healthy).

I think one big problem here is misconception just who on Norweigan team takes asthma medicine. In fact I think only one is Björgen, but I am not sure of that to be honest. I have read Johaug for one does not take asthma medicine, stated by Norweigan coach as well as finnish newspaper when they commented Kowalczyk accusing Saarinen.
Concerning 2009, both Steira and Johaug did ok there. Only reason they did not win more medals is that their not good enough at sprinting. That is true now as well.
No. In one of the races among the first four skiers only Kowalczyk didn't have asthma. In some other all in the first eight were asthmatic weaklings (except Kowalczyk). It's the Norwegians, stupid.
What is your source of this accusation? Everyone can go around accusing, but you need actual proof to back it up. I have seen more than one place stating she does not use asthma medicine while only claim she does comes from Kowalczyk and her coach. Considering she wrongly accused Saarinen based on what someone told in Liberec I am not very confident on that. Also I consider Norway coach more accurate, especially as I bet special permissions leave trace so you can't just hide them.
Kowalczyk is not reliable source. Nor is her coach for that matter. All that is publicly agreed is that Björgen uses normally forbidden asthma medicine. Do you have source for rest of them? As in reliable one? It should not be hard to show reliable ones. The breathing part is like this: If you have astma it is harder to breathe, your airways clog up and the airflow is less than if you were healthy. If you take medicine your back to normal.

Sports officials are notorious for corruption. Everybody knows about FIFA,its officials get paid for their votes. FIS is a little less known, so the scandals are not brought to the public attention. That's why you have to rely on statements of the insiders. Like Wierietielny, Kowalczyk, Majdic.
Kowalczyk revealed that many of the skiers (from Russia, Estonia,...) supported her for speaking loud about the Norwegian (and Scandinavian) cheating.

@yb3000 Just checked the Wada Health, Medical & Research Committee. There is one singel norwegian repr. in the committee. I also checked the Labarotory expert gropup. No norwegians represented. For safety reason I also checked the Ethical Issues Expert Group, I found one singel norwagian represented.
So in all these thre groups there were LOTS of americans, canadians, spanish, netherlands, Uk etc. But only two norwegians. (zero danish and only one swede) Mostly scandinavian based? :-)

Therese Johaug does NOT take asthma medication, she have not got asthma.
Kristin Størmer Steira does NOT take astma medication, guess what, no asthma.
Marit Bjørgen do have asthma and do take madication for it. But she had asthma in 2009 also and did not do well then, she did also have asthma in 2005 when she was best, but did not use the same medication she does now. That medication was not on any doping list.

People look, Norway have 170.000 active members that compete in winter sport, this is our pride and glory. Norway have from the start of skiing always been in the top. We have good training facilitys, we have good trainers, we have good equipment and we have the experience. You can see that because when norwegian trainers go to train people in other countrys and train their athletes they tent to do good in skiing. Canada, Switzerland for example.

I think one big problem here is misconception just who on Norweigan team takes asthma medicine. In fact I think only one is Björgen, but I am not sure of that to be honest. I have read Johaug for one does not take asthma medicine, stated by Norweigan coach as well as finnish newspaper when they commented Kowalczyk accusing Saarinen.
Concerning 2009, both Steira and Johaug did ok there. Only reason they did not win more medals is that their not good enough at sprinting. That is true now as well.

What is your source of this accusation? Everyone can go around accusing, but you need actual proof to back it up. I have seen more than one place stating she does not use asthma medicine while only claim she does comes from Kowalczyk and her coach. Considering she wrongly accused Saarinen based on what someone told in Liberec I am not very confident on that. Also I consider Norway coach more accurate, especially as I bet special permissions leave trace so you can't just hide them.

Kowalczyk is not reliable source. Nor is her coach for that matter. All that is publicly agreed is that Björgen uses normally forbidden asthma medicine. Do you have source for rest of them? As in reliable one? It should not be hard to show reliable ones. Seeing as Björgen has made no secret out of it I do not think it will be hard for you to prove rest are asthmatic and have special right to use. Specifically special rights I would think leaves some trail.

You know very well what I am talking about and you are dodging the answer as I fear you have no real source. Just because there are wide spread rumors through the country does not mean their right. They could be, but so far I have not seen any actual proof. I did some research concerning Johaug little time ago and did not find single objective source to back it up. In fact seems nordic media thinks she does not use. Other than Kowalczyk or her trainer quotes not in Polish media too.

Speaking of which can you at least quote Kowalczyk stating she using asthma medicine in some press conference or in nordic media? Only thing I saw was she refusing to comment when she was asked about Johaug winning without asthma medicine. Seems kinda odd if it is factual knowledge.

Are all Norwegians such weaklings and cheaters like their cross country skiers (especially Bjoergen)? Don't Norwegians have any healthy people to compete in international sports events? Are only cripples left in that country? Why do they go to FIS with wailing requests to allow them to use doping legally? Do you have any dignity in that country?

@pep1815 No actualy it is genes, we just have higher endurance. Maybe if your athletes trained more technique they would do better. Better skies is also a must if you want to be in the top.
Btw, taking steroids for an endurance sport is rather stupid, you would develop a lot of slow muscle fibres, not the best thing if you want to be fast, and another thing...steroids does NOT give you more endurance.

And the last. Asthma meds with steroids give you more endurance. That's what they are for. There are different kinds of steroids.

What? It's endurance sport, not tennis. Technique in cross country skiing is simple and of secondary importance. It's all about your lungs and muscles. That's where the asthma medications come to play.
You must be seriously intellectually crippled. Bjoergen has endurance when the drugs kick in, which she had to admit herself. Here drugs can't be taken constantly, so she chickened out of Tour de Ski.

Bjoergen lost the season to Kowalczyk. She was unable to steal from Kowalczyk the most important trophy of them all - the World Cup (which shows the actual value of a skier).

@pep1815 you mean this: "Budesonide is a steroid that reduces inflammation in the body. Formoterol is a bronchodilator that relaxes muscles in the airways to improve breathing." it seems like that steroid have nothing to do with muscles in general, but have a passiv effect if you should get a astma attack. The breathing part is like this: If you have astma it is harder to breathe, your airways clog up and the airflow is less than if you were healthy. If you take medicine your back to normal.

@Adoowrap you still have to breathe by your self and you do not get a better O2 capacity just bacause your airways is back to normal. Hence, you do not get a performance boost from that medicin compeard to if you were a healthy person. you can not benefit from it if you are a healthy person. It is impossible. You are as good as the training you do.

@pep1815 The problem here is that you dont want to see the truth. If i had taken asthma medicine it would not have any effect on my breathing or ability to do so. My lung capacity is 99%, so the medicine could not boost it because thats just not what it does. But there are things that does that, but asthma medicine does NOT do it. You have to understand that.
Just think about it, Budesonide and Formoterol have been around for decades. This is medicine that even kids take for crying out loud.

Those drugs are banned by WADA as they do enhance performance. If those asthma drugs did not enhance performance for everybody (including the healthy), they would not be banned by WADA. So that's the implicit official position of WADA that those drugs help the healthy, too..

You mentioned EPO did you not? Well: EPO is made in the kidneys, so when the oxygen get to the kidney with the bood the cells that make EPO is sensitive to low oxygen levels, if low oxygen, they make more.
