  • Good job.

  • Hi, Do you have an arrangement for cello of Beethoven's Romance in F Major for Violin ????

  • I think you play very accuraely, intune and in time, but i think you now need to add alot more musicality, the whole set of variations are not the same tempo. thats just one example.

  • @Batman6564 Thanks.

  • Great job.

  • *Very* nice rendition, guys!! There's a lot of drama in the crescendos and the springy bow-- perfect. It takes a lot to hold my interest when it comes to classical, even though (or perhaps, because) I've played a lot of it in the last 14 years. This is my favorite of your "Journeys" in terms of execution. Can't beat Sicilliene for haunting melody.

  • Thanks.

  • your vibrato can be a little wider but overall excellent! btw what cello do u use?

  • I listen to the compiled playlist while I go about the house. This is very nice. Thank you for sharing.

  • Good Job Luke! U could a bit more flexible with the tempo.

  • Very, very beautiful!!!!

    Tank you!

  • Thanks

  • this is a fun piece by Beethoven. I like that you had someone do a piano duet with you to this piece. it'd be missing something if it didn't

  • I love this too! thanks for uploading 'em!

  • I really liked it when you shifted, I play bass by the way. nice sound

  • Thanks. Have fun on the bass.

  • I got a question how do you make the cello go louder and then go soft ?

  • Ghostfunny - There are a few ways. For example, if you use more bow the sound gets louder. If you use more weight of the bow arm, it also gets louder. Also the sound is generally louder and more concentrated when you play further down. (closer to the bridge)

  • Ohh thank you so much

  • I know what you're talking about. This effect is in one place in every variation in this piece. It's quite hard but I usually just pause for a brief moment before the soft note. But it's technically really tricky.

  • press harder w/ the bow on the strings

  • no way! it's awesome like this. if he would have pressed it harder it would have been too loud. so i'ts fine like the way he does it. even more than fine, it's just great!

  • Great!

  • I completed my collection of the last 5 beethoven Quartets and have them on an Ipod. It was hard to get a set of them I had to buy 4 0r 5 cd's over the years. They require a lot of attention for me to grasp, but its a good diversion from his symphonies which I've been depending on too much.

  • Great Job! Like cellocorman, I loved the contrast! Um one thing though, in the first variation, the piano was too loud. I liked the balance between the cello and the piano in the other variations MUCH better. I think that problem faxed its self as the piece went on.

  • Indeed, the balance btw cello and piano is good.

  • Nice playing :-) Great contrast between variations.. I don't fully agree with some of your choices, but that is a personal stylistic thing. The variations and sonatas of Beethoven are great gifts to cellists, and tons of fun to play :-) Keep em coming.

  • This really makes me want to go practice my cello because it is the last piece I worked on a few months back. Too bad it's midnight and my family is trying to sleep.

  • Ah yes the sleeping family can be a problem. I have that too. It almost seems like in the end you start to build your whole schedule around when you can play the cello :)

  • love it :]
