I would say that at all, hes often in the spotlight, ive heard Zakk wylde, rusty cooley and countless other guitarist mention him as an influence. plus Parissienne Walkways is known by people who dont even play guitar

but i do still see your point he is fairly unknown compared to guys who have less than half his talent
