  • no, it's quite not that, I mean about sound 'do you see my tongue? i can hardly talk' etc.

  • anyone knows whats the title of song at 0:41:00?

  • @helloFluffybutt Gethsemane

  • @helloFluffybutt thats when he is with the lepers correct?

  • @MrBritdog2 yes, exactly

  • Soy ateo, y a pesar de eso, amo esta rock ópera.

Definitivamente, esta versió es insuperable, la del año 2000 no le hace competencia para nada. Quizás lo único que se salve de la del 2000, es Pilato.

  • GOD IS AWESOME

  • GOD COMES TO US IN DIFERENT WAYS TO EVERY PEOPLE DONT SAY GOD FORGOT THE CHINESE HAVENT YOU THINK THAT MAYBE THE ONE THAT MORE NEED OF HIM WERE OURSELF, OUR WESTERN CULTURE IS THE ONE THAT LOST THE PATH MORE EASILY HAVENT YOU THOUGHT THAT THOSE ASIAN PEOPLE MAYBE HAD BETTER HEART THAT OURSELF ANYONE THAT HAS SONS KNOWS THAT EVERY SON IS DIFERENT AND NEED DIFERENT TREATMENT AND DIFERENT ADVICES AND DIFERENT KIND OF HELP.

  • PLEASE FIX THE FILM TO THE LYRICS SO THEY MATCH

  • 0.2.04 that a bus in jesus time

  • Does anyone know why God decided to ignore 99% of His children (i.e Asians, Indians, South Americans, Native North Americans, Native Australians, South Pacific Islanders, Northern, Southern and Eastern Europeans, Sub-saharan Africans, etc) for thousands of years - just to focus on one tiny area of the world He created? Seems like a rather neglectful parent, and He's supposed to be a, no scratch that the only God? But I really dig this music.

  • @iThinkThereforeiCan Hello, I can't say it all here, but.... God's ultimate plan is to redeam humanity through the Jewish race, whom the messiah (Jesus) was born of through bloodline of King David (Old Testament). Jesus' blood atonement for sin is the final sacrifice for all humanity, that all who believe and call on His name will be saved from God's judgement of sin (hell). This film is a subtle satanic deception because it doesn't depict the resurrection, the final defeat of satan.

  • @endtimefreak I dunno, still seems rather convoluted. What does the Jewish race have to do with a Tibetan yak herder or a villager in the Andes? In my experience there is but one capital T TRUTH. Otherwise please explain the existence of so many religions: Judiasm, Christianity, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. There can't be one right and a dozen wrong, you know. Why does G-D limit Himself to but ONE son? No one's beliefs are not wrong, so long as they don't make other's wrong.

  • @endtimefreak: As I have to keep reminding people, this is a PASSION PLAY, which DOES NOT depict the resurection. Catholic Church put them on by the dozens during lent in medievil times; again NO RESURECTION. A Passion Play is only about the last week of his life. It ends at the cross. Do some research on passion plays. That's exactly what this is. Now just enjoy the awesome music!

  • shame songs dont match picture

  • @jasonloveselvis that is a shame totally loved this in 1971, really should fix the voice to the film

  • awesome movie and sondtrack, i listen to the album every xmas morning,i get goose bumps every time, that womans voice is amazing

  • @supersce1 the whole play was amazing

  • Those people who say there is no resurrection at the end of the film. When you see the last scene of an empty cross in the sunset you'll notice the faint image of a single shepherd walking past in the foreground with his flock. That always symbolised the resurrection for me...

  • Thanks for posting. (soundtrack is out of sync BTW)

  • krásne :) počúvam to už pekných pár rokov a dokážem sa k tomu stále vrátiť, som rada že si viem vypočuť aj tu , dík

  • the whole reason he came was to die in our place, for our sins a movie about christ with out his sacrifice> his shed blood. this is a sick movie and abomination

  • @danapainterman seriously.... it's a movie

  • @danapainterman First of all, as I explained a while ago, this is a (modern day) passion play. If you knew what a passion play was, then you know that the (Catholic) church invented them in the medievil ages. They invented them for one purpose, and one purpose only -- to illustrate the pain Jesus went through (hence, "passion"). Passion plays don't go through His whole life. They don't go over the resurection. They don't go over why He came here (to be continued...)

  • @danapainterman (cont'd...) They go over one thing and one thing only...His last week of life, from entering Jeruselem until the crucification. That's it. Nothing more. That's a passion play, and that's what this is. We have the Bible to know Jesus' point of view, and the apostles points of veiw. If you are a believer, then the Bible is also God's take on it. What you have here is an artistic interpretation of what Judas' take on it might be. That's it, nothing more. So enjoy the great music

  • @danapainterman jesus asked god to spare him from this cup of poisen, but it was god's will that he die, not jesus's

  • Jesus died and rose again on the third day, to pook fun at christ is a very dangerious thing.

  • I remember watching this movie in 1974 in a catholic school newly arrived in Australia from a very religious country and thinking what the !!!!!! all that said i'm now agnostic but i think that this movie has one of the best soundtracks on any movie and it has been perfectly cast and i reckon that Judas steals the film as the actors potrail of the character is brilliant

  • @thebikemann I agree..amazing ..still gives me goosbumps after 30 years..!

  • respect

  • I prefer Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat over this one any day... but I still think that Tim and Andrew are genuises!

  • Thanks for sharing! Great movie!!! RIP Carl Anderson...

  • I love the songsss

  • The Last Two Years here in the United Kingdom this film has been shown at 6.30. a.m. on CHRISTMAS morning (Imagine Christmas Morning !!!), they never show it here in the UK at Easter, I wonder why, is it a conspiracy or what ?

  • I love love love this movie. I saw it in theaters when it first came out. I a teen ager. I have watched it hundreds of times since then. I think I know every song my heart. Thanks for sharing it .

    God bless

  • They didn't leave the resurection ambiguous. This is a modern day "passion play". Passion plays only focus on the last week of His life -- from just before entering Jerusulem, until the crucifixion. It ends at the crucifixion. They were very popular during the height of the Catholic Church in medievil times.

  • cant wait for the remake in 2014, i just hope its better than 2000....

  • I cannot believe this has not been viewed more than 100000 times by myself alone!

  • amazing and excellent!

  • i love this musical play...

  • sound track is off :((

  • Sound track is off

  • @Iwillbedurnd Easy fix.. 2 tabs, one with movie (muted to watch) the other tab with the soundtrack, but yes, it would have been better if the soundtrack wasn't off.

  • this is totally the best jesus christ superstar out there.. i still haven't seen it live, but i really want to. this movie is my go to for easter and now i see it's on youtube!? thats amazing!!

  • is there no resurresction in the end???

  • @beltine86 In real life there yes, in the film no

  • @m01252m My enjoyment of this movie has enlightened me enough not to tease you about that comment. :-)

  • @m01252m "In real life"? lol you mean in the Biblical version of events. Definitely not real life.

  • @m01252m if you look closely at the last scene there is a man or a shepherd walking which i think resembles the resurrection :) god bless you

  • @ca296malta In the Audiocomments u hear that that shepherd was not planned... he just appeared! And they liked it and didnt stop filming, normally they wantet to film the sunset.

    greets Yu

  • @xXAngelxGirlXx1 i just suggested dunno but great music g.b. :)

  • @ca296malta yeah =D I love that music <3 i watsch it since im 6 and Im addicetet ande Ted neeley (Jesus) and Carl Anderson (Judas) have the best voices I have ever heard!

  • @beltine86 No.

  • @beltine86 There's a shepherd walking into the foreground at the end, which may suggest a resurrection. They left it ambiguous.

  • @beltine86 There is resurrection in the end. At the very end, you can see Jesus walking in the desert across the screen.

  • is there no resurresction in the end???

  • @beltine86

There is :) :) :) - just not in this musical!

  • thank you so much! i have watched this movie on easter for the past 20 years and now im away at college and couldnt go home to my family. you have made my easter!
