I can't believe you idiots would keep a woman like this in office. Among the doubletalk in her soliloquy was gibber jabber about how "Accelerated depreciation" means they shouldn't have to "pay for 20 years for machines that are worth nothing after 5". What a scam!!!! "Accelerated depreciation" means that the owners get TAX REFUNDS ON TOTAL COST OF THE MACHINES FOR 5 YEARS! Got that? The city gives them 3/4 of a million bucks, then the owners then get TAX REFUNDS for spending it !

Why is Randi Shade harping on this? I don't support Kim but it's for a lot better reasons.
First of all, Las Manitas is one of the oldest businesses in Downtown Austin: Latina-run, artist-supportive, and partnered with long-time progressive activists in Austin (La Peña!). Secondly, they didn't even take the loan!! Isn't $65 million in tax breaks to the Domain more offensive??
