@kinfofthe40oz my kimber is doin great,i never had any malfuntion's,im still using my factory magazine and 10 round, ammo that i have been feeding it is winchester.its a great .45acp.i wasnt really a fan of the glocks,as i think i stated on one of my vids.great pistol, but not for me.
Good you handle the gun like a pro, I can't tell you how many fricken people I've seen can't control 1911 cause they have no stance, nor do they know how to hold the gun, some can't even shoot a fricken m9 with the barrel jerking up cause they don't have a good grip. Good shooting.
Sorry the late reply,im pretty sure u got ur kimber..the oem sights are not the best, but good for daytime shooting,at night, not so well..so i replace mine with trijicon night sights...good for night and indoor shooting...hope that helps..
dude how are the kimbers? im thinking about trading my glock for one. i love glock but damn 1911's are so nice. do you ever have any reliability issues with it? i saw nutnfancys video where his buddys kimber was having malfunctions every magazine?
EXCELLENT muzzle flip control. It's hard to believe that someone knows the two-thumbs forward technique AND is on Youtube. I actually just won my Kimber Custom II in a Law Enforcement shoot, so for $50.00 you can't beat a Kimber!! lol
i think the right way to do it differs for everyone. personally on the 1911 i put my right thumb on top of the safty lever and the left thumb on the slide stop. thats why i like glocks so much, its lots of real estate to put your thumbs and flat. the best shooter i've seen just rests his right hand on the inside of his left. so really whatever works for you, is what you better do.
You can damage yur thumbnail doing that. just bend your thumb a little more so it doeant catch in the slide notch. I am not being critical ive just done it myself and want to save you the pain of a torn thumbnail.
It's great to see someone who actually knows how to hold and fire a handgun correctly. Hand deep in the tang, thumbs down, cover all black. Nice shootin' bud.
yea but the thing is my ffl has to order one directly from kimber and the wait time is 3-7 months so im thinking of picking up a used custom II that they have for 650 to hold me over till my warrior arrives :D
i love it!!!! stupily accutate, haha,,oh man u gettin a warrior.one of my buddy has one...theres a weight diffrence, probably cuz of the materail that is used...u lucky bro....
I had a Springfield TRP stainless and recently sold it. I presonally didn't think it was worth the $1,300 price tag. Sights were off from the factory (confirmed by other more and less experienced shooters).
Don't sell it, its such an awesome 1911. Sadly for what I paid for mine, 389 dollars. I got screwed, but I won't give up on mine, it needs alot of work.
I have a beat up M1911A1 pieced together from a buch of Vetnam era M1911's. It an Officers model, and it has some feeding problems, and I plan on getting new night sights for her, but that will be after I dremel out the chambers throat, and polish the feed ramp to an acceptable sheen.
thank you, yeah u gotta get one.very accurate, gotta love the 45acp! the sad thing is i might sell my kimber to get a springfield trp,,,very very nice 1911...not sure, still thinking about it.
pull back on the slide with a loaded mag.or depress the release slide.not that hard, you should go to the range with a friend and go shooting.kimber is one hell of a pistol.
Releasing the slide using the overhand method is by far the best way to action the weapon, rather than using the slide release lever. Gets taught to police over here in Oz... so that's why I know!
Used to go to target masters, but I go to reed's indoor range instead now. Just picked up a kimber custom II 1911, can't wait to shoot it! Damn 10 day waiting period - I'm angry now! ;)
I've handled and fired a 1911A1 Colt, and overall I was impressed with the handling and rugedness of the weapon more so than the Glock. Although Glock's have been battle tested to the extreme, they are too light and don't absorb recoil as well as the 1911A1 (or even the Browning HP 9mm)... Also I found the Glock too wide and square across the top for aiming... Only good for cops who don't have to fumble with safety catch!!
yea i use to own a glock 19,and hated it,dont get me wrong they are nice!but didnt feel right to my hands, but the xd in the other hand,i love it.and yes the i di have a problem controlling the recoil on the glock19..maybe i should of went with the 17,if that makes a difference?
Im Looking into a Kimber Warrior or a Colt 1911 Im new to these pieces and wonder what you recommend is the Warrior similar to this model. I would aprecciate your input Thanks !
they are grooves similar to tghe ones on the reaer side , for grip . you use them when(the name for this escapes me)you pull the slide back slightly to check to see if the handgun is chamberd
You are thinking of grasping serrations on the outside of the slide (on the bow and stern), I was referring to a barrel deformation on the inside of the barrel. It's a defect that Kimber is taking care of for me.
How do you compare the kimber 1911 to the Para Ordnance 1911? i noticed the kimbers i come across tend to be lower in price than the Para? Any significant difference?
i just purchased a new kimber 1911 pro carry crimson and i prefer it more than the para but the kimber will jam quite a bit during break in. but now mines is fantastic and i payed 915$ .....buy the kimber
After 500 rounds your gun will still be as tight as a drum but all the break-in jamming will b gone. They are truly good guns. Now if only a WW2 model was made that way for the commercial market!
para is known for their POWER EXTRACTOR. it's almost double the size of a normal extractor. Todd Jarett did a 1000 round torture test with NO JAMS with his para pxt 1911. Well he did have good mags, but I'm shooting a Kimber Pro Carry 2 with Wilsom Combat mags(supposedly better then Chip McCormicks) vs. Chip McCormicks and it stil jams
If you're Kimber has an internal extractor, try replacing it with a Wilson Combat internal extractor. If it's external, replace the extractor spring with a Wolff Kimber External Extractor Spring. Also, how many rounds have you put into it? Recoil spring might need replacing after a few thousand rounds.
LOL I do the exact same thing. Los altos R&G club is cool because they are really chill and let you do what you want preetty much. I like the sunnyvale rod and gun club too but it is always crowded.
You should use ear muffs for indoor shooting bro. Plugs aren't enough. Theres a whole lotta sound bouncing off those walls that still hits your ear drum. Long term effects, know waht i mean? Just saying. Nice Kimber. I love my TLE II stainless. I got it 4 months ago.
yea your right,i should use earmuffs,to tell you the truth,i been having a littel just a littel hearing problem now, just a tiny bit.but yes now i ben using earmuffs with the plugs.
Well I just got home from the gun store. The guy at the store called around trying to find a Springfield for me with no luck. So I went with a Taurus stainless 1911.
You're wearing a Glock shirt which means you don't like a safety either. Oh my god...
