  • Well " ewedude" Check out a man by the name of Al Gallorodo, played into his late 90's every weekend till he died. Played the alto sax, clarinet, and I believe the bass sax.Was called the tripple threat in his days, and was called by Jimmy Dorsey ,the greatest sax player that ever lived. Played the lead clarinet in the song" Rahpsody in Blue" over 10,000 times,Check his web page on line!!!

  • Christian Wirth

  • I have never heard such a beautiful sax sound.

  • There is a "s" at the name of Vellones.

  • Great !

  • Wow what a cool piece!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video!!!! I can't believe its on youtube. I am playing this piece in about 2 weeks for my recital!

  • Marcel Mule. All time baddest ass of the classical alto saxophone. In tune, technically fluid and briliant, phrased beautifully, rhythmically coherent. Who's better? Show me....

  • nobody.

  • @ewedude probably not better, but maybe as good as, sigurd rascher and maybe raaf hekkema i do love Mule a lot though...

  • @ewedude Honestly, as great as Mule was as a sax player, there are people this day and age who are better. The players of this day took the strong foundation Mule layed and have evolved sax playing. Londeix did this too. Players Like Claude Delangle, Cliff Leaman, Sinta, and more have evolved sax playing, and I'm sure when they have retired, there will be people better than them to take things up. However, musically, it's subjective who you like better. :)
