@BytheBeardofYmir Uh they mainly sent generals and veterans to train soldiers for the american colonies. Then they promised large amounts of money that didn't really end up coming. Finally when they saw the revolution turning in the favor of the United States they sent troops which intimidated the British into finally surrendering the colonies to individual rule. So... i don't see how we would have definitively lost without them.
