This is probably one of the worst demonstrations of this effect I have seen. I presumed the music would be the "distraction" but it wasn't. I talk to all spectators during the "vital" moments and "pushed" the sword through the ring so any noise will be unnoticed. Although the trick advertises that you can use any ring, I have yet to find anybody wearing a ring so thin that it will fit in the slot in the clear plastic box (but if it were that thin it will obviously work).
