Why couldn't this show be on a network that deserves it instead of freaking NBC. This is the only show I watch on that awful channel and they have the nerve to want to cancel it. That's harsh. For what it's worth I think NBC have been pretty nice to Community. If it were on another channel, it most likely wouldn't have gotten a 2nd or even 3rd season. NBC needs to promote the show hard, do more re-runs and people need to stop choosing channels based on just their reps but on the quality of each individual show.

NBC as a whole is a failure of a network, they only continue to succeed due to brand power and being able to fill the primetime slots with mind-numbing programming. The only worthwhile comedies on NBC right now are The Office (debatable), Community, Parks and Rec and 30 Rock. They should cancel all the reality TV and garbage programming they have and put more money towards worthwhile shows that have large fanbases.

NBC has taken Community off the schedule post xmas until an unknown time. In it's place, 30 Rock will resume and Whitney will be moved to Wednesday. This doesn't mean it's cancelled, but it doesn't bode well for the show and it's low ratings.

I think Whitney and/or Prime Suspect will be cancelled in regards to future NBC cancellations. While they may have slightly higher ratings than Community, they're also premiering series and are more likely to have a ratings drop since they're not as established, plus Community is closer to being up for syndication. Fringe gets weak ratings but managed to get a 4th season because of the syndication deal. Plus, Community's budget is lower this season, so NBC should take that into account as well.

But NBC on the whole is pretty desperate for comedy and with a (Steve Carrell-less) "The Office" as its main anchor, there's a good chance Community will return next season

Couple that with the fact that after 4 seasons, NBC can sell the syndication rights AND that Dan Harmon (the creator) only has a 4 year arc planned anyway, they may just let him finish the show.
