  • People need to find a medium between the two extremes. Don't walk around looking like a dumb muslim, but don't walk around looking like a whoremonger. Just wear something that descently covers your chest and hips. If you look like a whoremonger people are going to treat you like one. I'm not going to lie, if I were to see someone breast feeding in public, I would run and find some brain bleach. If you do that in public you'll, more than likely, get harassed by a sick-minded freak.

  • I walk around with my junk out the bottom of my shorts I get arrested even though everyone can avert their eyes. Women can expose their bits, calling the choice a feminist issue, and society is supposed to go along with it? If you have to lift your shirt to breast feed, the very presence of that shirt means you feel the need to cover yourself. It's natural for a mother to nourish her child. It's natural to take a big wet poop after eating too much Mexican food too, doesn't mean I want to see it.

  • @Phixius How about you compare apples to apples instead of feeding a baby to taking a shit? Pooping in front of one-another is NOT natural (I say this because it is absolutely atypical in any society) but eating together/in front of one another IS. In fact, many people seek out others to eat with. It is true that breastfeeding a baby requires the use of the body; but to compare it to taking a dump is r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s.

  • I compared one natural act to another, I just chose the grossest example I could. But here's a much more appropriate example: Breastfeeding is a natural, beautiful act that creates a bond between two people. Sex is also a natural, beautiful act that creates a bond between two people. But you wouldn't have sex on a park bench in full view of the public, would you? Everyone in every society seeks out others to have sex with, which throws your "ridiculous" justifications out the window. So why not?

  • love it..i was recently told that Im not modest or discreet enough with how i nurse thanks

  • The follow up video for this is going to be 'Even though women show their breasts in public while breastfeeding, they don't deserve to be raped since some men may be sexually stimulated by seeing naked breasts.'

  • @MotherNatureisBiased Since no one deserves to be raped EVER, that is self-explanatory.

  • @phdinparenting No child deserves to be abused either which is also self-explanatory. So sad that women are the majority of their abusers.

  • Great video!

  • QUERY:

    Worldwide, who shows more skin?

Depending on individual inhibitions, women have varying degrees of covering up their bodies / exposure.

Do women feel adventurous in exposing more?

Does it give them a kick or high?

At any event, men (celebrities) dress up from neck to toe, whereas its the other way with women.

What are women trying to prove? Equality? Freedom?

    Really?

  • @vinaaysharma you have a small brain my friend...and as a fellow indian im proud to point out that only another indian is capable of talkng like this...fuckin' failure!...

  • @dhillan85 Stop looking in the mirror .. you are actually describing your own brain size.

Just because you have nothing intelligent to write, please give your fingers some rest.

Women have been oppressed and is showing more skin the only way to vent their ire (in the garb of freedom) ?

  • @vinaaysharma as a matter of fact you could consider it to be...the freedom to decide what she wants to wear and when, and whether she feels it's appropriate or not...the freedom from judgement from folks of your ilk...there are a lot of dimensions to women's oppression...this is only one...please get back to your hunt for an arranged marriage...

also, reflecting brains...i wonder how that works my intelligent friend...

  • @dhillan85

In a social environment, one needs to respect the views and acceptability of others around us.

Do men dress equivalently (same manner) as women?

I wonder what kind of equality-and-freedom is experienced in exposing (lots) more of one's body?

BTW, what has arranged marriage got to do with this discussion?

    Are you nuts ?

If you feel taunting & mocking makes you a winner in this discussion .. well, I declare you a winner.

    Congratulations !

  • @vinaaysharma men dress the same way as women!?...excuse me, but how much variety is really on offer from men...not to mention in plenty of villages, men are topless and wearing close to nothing almost all the time...you are missing the point about women having little call in these "acceptability" protocols...and as regards breast-feeding, it's the single most natural act in the world...the woman can damn well do it where she pleases..its her child, if anyone is offended, just look the other way

  • @dhillan85 I didn't write anything about breastfeeding and Not all women want to breastfeed in front of everybody.

Anatomically, men and women are different and there are different levels of acceptability by both men and women for each other.

Both men & women accept or don't mind men going topless.

Both men & women have different levels of acceptability of women going topless / exposure.

There IS a difference, created by Nature (birth), and we have to accept its reality.. accept its existence.

  • @vinaaysharma don't disagree...there IS difference...but that difference becomes a problem when one side is automatically subject to more suppression on the grounds of "difference"...that's also what leads to role definitions and things like that...it's very slippery ground...

  • Comment removed

  • @vinaaysharma it's laughable and lamentable how uneasy we are with the most natural acts and things...and yet at perfect peace with the big load of techno wonders thrown at our faces, a little questioning is in order me thinks...and what about a woman exposing her body offends you if i may ask, since you seem to leaning towards the other side pretty damn strongly...and also, equivalent standards between men and women is a flawed argument, since there barely are any...

  • Why is it a feminist issue? Why not just a personal issue?

  • @TipoftheSlung Because it is usually men who are telling women how they should dress.

  • @phdinparenting

    I feel pressured also...

  • @phdinparenting Actually, it's not just men but, society in general. Comments on what is appropriate come from men and women equally. The problem is that they are directed at women as a means of controlling behavior and specifically, attempting to place constraints on the female body.

  • @phdinparenting as well as other women...men are certainly also policed, but general not about how much skin they're showing...and most of these examples (headscarves, breastfeeding) apply only to women

  • @phdinparenting That is a very ignorant remark. Women also tell women how they should dress. It is the women who bring children up saying this is bad dressing and this is good dressing leading to the men thinking that a woman in a short skirt is easy. This is not a feminist issue. It is a violation of personal space, anybody's personal space, man or woman.

  • @TipoftheSlung When is the last time you saw a man breast feeding?

  • Yay! Show them titays!!

  • This is very much a feminist issue. And not just for breastfeeding. The first part of the video was about the different ways women dress. I think that also is a significant topic for discussion.

  • @hanksnow82 ....oh...was that die comment supposed to hurt? I guess the next thing you'll spout with such "dignity and decorum" is that your daddy is bigger than mine? How old are you sweet heart? Does your mommy know you're up past your bedtime using big words you don't understand?

  • Beautifully done, Annie. It's sad that people need to have this explained to them. You don't get to be the arbiter of what women are wearing or not wearing. Not based on where they are, what they're doing or their religious faith.

  • This is an amazing video. I have never cared what people thought when I fed my daughter in public but this video has really empowered me. The video brought tears to my eyes. I have never thought of this being a feminist issue but you are so very right. Thank you for this...I will be sharing it.

  • thank you! Im currently nursing my 5th daughter and have always felt proud of my accomplishments. Breastfeeding is natural and everywhere. Thank you!!

  • Thank you for such a beautiful video.

  • amazing video! y havent you done videos before!?!?!?

  • @lilliemonstersmommy I didn't have the tools or the knowledge to do it. But I'm learning! I hope to make more.

  • Really beautiful video.

Remember: don't feed the trolls. It makes them worse. Ignore them and they'll go away.

  • Thank you for creating this video! If women can go for a jog in booty shorts and a sports bra, what is wrong with breastfeeding?

This is a free county and I should be able to freely feed my child naturally the way we were meant to do it, when I want to do it, how I want to do it, and where I want to do it!

  • too bad Muslim women didn't watch this and realize that men should make them cover themselves up!

  • Hopefully we'll catch up with the rest of the world and figure out that public breastfeeding isn't anything to get worked up over. It's how babies eat.

  • @hanksnow82 The fact that you insulted him when he only made his opinion clear, confirmes that you already lost the discussion.

Also, a mother feeding her child is a beautiful thing, not disgusting. But that's just my opinion as well.

  • @Trandhal The fact your from Sweden means no one cares what you think .

  • @hanksnow82 It's intresting that you think that you can win a discussion or prove an argument by insulting people and bring forth completly irrelevant topics.

  • @hanksnow82 Oh dear...I hope you don't sound as ignorant in real life. As the song says "I don't care what you think about me because I know who I am." If someone was BF in front of you, internet bravado would probably disappear and you would just look away.

  • @hanksnow82 No one should ever take advice from someone who can't even spell.

  • I know you dont have freedom of speech in Canuckistan but you are on the the American internet on American YouTube now where there is freedom of speech . I can watch any video i want and comment freely on it with out going in front of a human rights tribunal or having the goverment sanction me like in Canada .

  • @hanksnow82 'MURRICA! FUCK YEAH!

  • @hanksnow82 then please move to Canada.

  • Great video!

  • Great video... and the more people see breastfeeding, the more normal it is. Twenty years ago when I had my first child, I assumed everyone would want to breastfeed... but many were put off by the idea of public exposure. As your video shows, how much you reveal is a choice... it's easy to breastfeed and cover up if that's important to you. No one should feel they have to do it, though. If I could like this 100 times over, I would.

  • @hanksnow82 You are a moron. How is feeding your baby the same as having a bowel movement? Mother's feed babies with bottles openly and no one thinks twice. Someone provides their baby with what they are suppose to eat HUMAN MILK and people are up in arms b/c it comes out of breasts, which every mammal has.

BREASTS ARE NOT SEXUAL THEIR PURPOSE IS TO FEED OUR BABIES just like cows, giraffes, monkeys, dogs, cats ect ect no one tells them to cover up so STFU and stop being so ignorant

  • @hanksnow82 So why did you watch this video? If you're really repulsed by the sight of breastfeeding, where you associate it to defecation it seems a little counterfeit that you would even watch this video. Interesting.

  • Absolutely fantastic! I wish this were in the school curriculum; both girls and boys should see this and take it in.

  • A wonderful video - thank you! I'm all for brazen breastfeeding and like the soundtrack says I don't care! Thanks for creating such a great video!

  • After watching this I had the courage to nurse my daughter in public without a cover.. no one even noticed :)

  • @SidandMurphy Yeah you! If you ever get a look or comment that's not nice....remember...all us NIP mommas support you!

  • Wonderful, wonderful video! =)

  • This is a wonderful video, Annie. Thank you for producing something that I can show to people when they argue that it is an issue of 'common decency.' It's not. It's an issue of what you feel comfortable with as an individual.
