  • Lessen..lessen..lessen..the words, the feeling, the thought, the desire, the passion, the eagerness, the love, the heart..the effort of expressing this felling keith had, during the time he was thinking writing this songs and put this on record and so he could partake this to us.. and he did it..a lot of Christians was touch and hold on to their hearts..not all can do this because, what keith had done was a gift from God....it is not easy to express...God bless us upon hearing keith's songs.

  • God, this song is great!!! I love this song.

    Deeper.

  • tears make my heart soft....

  • All proof you need in regard to the Holy Father and his son lays within your heart. Thats where it is written!

  • Keith's Ministry will live on forever!! Here is a man who walked many paths and in all of his sin he stayed focused on his relationship with God. I have heard his music all my life but it means so much more to me now. We are all brothers and sisters here on Earth. Lets start there!

  • Praise God!

  • Interesting song. I think Keith really bought the bible myth. He was a co-dependent and probably had what we call today, ADHD. What an enormously proud character Keith Green was. He really loved to hear himself talk.

  • @aliashumanist6

no shit! not unlike christians today. then again, that is a typical christian characteristic.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008

unless you can demonstrate any of the new testament paranormal claims- then i'm not interested in ANYTHING you have to say. any of the paranormal claims will do. show me a a paranormal being knocking up a young girl, an instantaneous healing on command (of a real affliction. regrowing a limb would be preferred), bring back to life a dead person with a brand new body or my favorite- instantaneously magically turn water into wine.

  • @omahavinnie2 There is good evidence for the fact of the resurrection of Christ. If you really want to look at the evidence for the resurrection you should read, "Resurrection" by Hank Hanagraff. It isn't the only place to go for evidence, but it presents some of the main arguments pretty well.

  • @omahavinnie2 Luke 16:31

“But he said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’”

You refuse to believe now: seeing miracles wouldn't persuade you. God has already proven Himself to you through His creation: why then don't you believe? It's because, in your own unrighteousness, you suppress the truth God has made evident to you. You speculate about this world in vain and your foolish heart has been darkened.

  • @omahavinnie2 It's pretty clear your father is a paranormal being.

  • @omahavinnie2 Your whole approach shows you would refuse to believe no matter what you saw or no matter who testified to you of what they have seen. God will never do tricks for you and the miracles he has done will always be discounted by you. I have offered people like you verifiable miracles with witnesses and they always discount them because they did not see them. An honest person seeking proof would not write as you do in a disrespectful, argumentative fashion. You are a liar

  • Made a Mistake it was Steve Green's son.

  • @Pilowtacolover Steve Green is a faithful servant of god as well. Easily confused.

  • I met his song Josiah. And we are close friends :)

  • @Pilowtacolover I doubt that. He died in a plane crash.

  • Probably my all time Keith Green favorite. Having a little 2 year old boy now, this affects even more. A masterpiece. Sorry for the serial postings.

  • @mach2vision No. By all means, post away. I love getting new comments.

  • @mach2vision

I agree. This song is so moving. I love my Jewish son so much.

  • "Oh my friend Jesus, although he wasGod, he allowed himslef broken for you"...That is the single line in this song towards the end that makes the eyes start watering.

  • I was always uncomfortable with the line "Oh my son, I am only your brother, and for a sister God gave me your mother". It's just a weird thought. But, I think, you know, what's unbiblical about it? It is true. He's thinking beyond this life, which a lot of Christians don't do. Beyond this life, all the relationships we think of as eternal will be different in eternity- they're temporary- including marriage. There's a lot of romanticism in Christianity about marriage but it's NOT eternal.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 Not sure why this phrase makes you uncomfortable...or consid. unbiblical. In fact,it seems it's more biblical than most in speaking of our fam relationships. Don't ya think, that even now,you are your kids bro or sis? And even more so in eternity when you are no longer their earthly parent, possibly not even in their memory as such...As a parent,it really helped me as my son got older & realized his mom sins,to remind him I'm 'his sister'.Think Keith's talking about 'now'.

  • thanks for posting...Keith'songs always make me cry but i praise the Lord for every tear that my eyes spit out!

  • @MsVAL1972

    Wow praise the Lord.

  • @Patternpop. I simply love the way Keith's music touches my heart and helps me get in touch with the holy spirit...

My favorites are asleep in the light and Grace by witch i stand.

  • IIRC, this song was released following Keith's death so it packed all the more wallop for that, since, I believe, Josiah died in the plane crash with Keith. This song left me dumbstruck when I first heard it. The passion and power of Keith's voice coupled with these lyrics, especially in light of their unexpected passings, was/is overwhelming.

  • @sjplwc Could you pray for my daughter?

  • @sjplwc: Yes, Josiah, age 3, and Bethany, age 2, both died with Keith in the plane crash. His wife Melody was indeed "just like the mother so long ago" who "had to watch her beloved son die." :( This song sends chills up my spine every time I hear it.

  • thx 4 posting soren.Keith's music will remain forever green,so to speak.I've rated it awesome for so it is

  • ive just been blown away by this song!! amazing

  • Beautiful song. Paul Washer mentions it sometimes when he's preaching; says he used to sing his children to sleep with it...

  • That'd be a hard one to sing every night- especially without waking them up. Acapella?

  • Sorry, to be more specific, he sang the four lines beginning "Oh my son, I am weak and I'm trembling...". But it was the sentiment (if that's the right word) that struck me. To be a Dad, like Keith or Paul, and to genuinely say such things to your children. G.K.Chesterton wrote "That is the one eternal education; to be sure enough that something is true that you dare to tell it to a child."

  • Gotta love Chesterton.

  • I named my first son Josiah. What a gift I was given.
